Junior Commercial Analyst

THE ROLE

The Commercial Analyst role sits within WiseEnergy's Commercial team. It is a broad commercial role with a regulatory and contractual focus, in which a commercial, contractual or a legal background within renewables would be highly advantageous.

It is a permanent, full-time role, starting as soon as possible and reporting to the Commercial Manager, based in Madrid. 

The role will be focused on managing assets in Chile, however will also support the wider WiseEnergy portfolio of assets, including assets in Portugal, Spain, Poland and the US.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining solar plant compliance with contractual requirements including drafting and issuing formal notices/communications, and if required, investigating non-compliance and resolution.
  • Managing property agreements, e.g. land leases, and relationships with landowners.
  • Managing project company contract renewals and tendering.
  • Managing the regulatory interface and compliance requirements alongside our advisors, e.g. data submissions, for project companies under management.
  • Managing insurance renewals and claims.
  • Managing the monthly revenue accruals process and investigating discrepancies, where relevant.
  • Supporting Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) compliance and delivery.
  • Supporting the company’s in-house ‘onboarding’ process for new sites with a specific focus on understanding contracts and working internally with WiseEnergy’s Finance and Technical teams to: ensure a seamless transition into WiseEnergy; extraction of relevant information into the company’s bespoke contract management software; supporting the creation of respective Onboarding Report and Operating Plans; and smooth management throughout the life of each respective agreement.
  • Updating and continued development of the company’s in-house Asset Management Platform (AMP) software as required, working with Commercial teams in London, Milan and Hyderabad as necessary and with the in-house Technology team.
  • Supporting annual Asset Operating Plans with relevant contract management information and reviews.
  • Reporting to the client - internally and externally as required.
  • Approving contractual invoices.
  • Ad hoc commercial projects.

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Time management & prioritization skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical.
  • Excellent communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organize your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to together well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate, warm and engaging.
  • Flexibility - being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelled out in your job description.
  • Intellectual Curiosity – Technical Management is a broad and nuanced field and we are looking for someone who is truly interested in our profession and has the intellectual curiosity to delve deep into topics and bring fresh ideas into the team.
  • IT Literacy - you need to be comfortable with IT systems and working with data (you should have at least intermediate-level excel).
  • Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs really matters!
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 1-2 years in a similar level role
  • Bachelors’ degree
  • Regulatory, property and contract knowledge desirable
  • Advanced standard MS Office suite, notably Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Strong organisational, change management and business process skills
