The Role

This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a motivated graduate to join a high-performing, fast-paced HR team within a leading Hedge Fund in a HR role focusing on Early Careers recruitment or HR Operations. This is a high-touch, relationship-driven role, where you will be able to go down one of two streams. With one, you will be the engine behind our operational HR activity - managing the administrative lifecycle, acting as a kay point of contact for employees and third parties, and helping to identify opportunities to streamline manual processes over time. With the other stream, you will be the face of the Early Careers programme, and will play a meaningful part in shaping the experience of our future talent.

This role requires the candidate to spend the first 6 months working from our London office, then moving to full-time based out of our Newcastle office.

  • HR Operations and Continuous Improvement - Manage the HR Operations inbox, triaging and resolving queries from employees efficiently; support the identification and documentation of manual processes; assist with periodic HR reporting, data cleansing and audit activities; liaise with external providers including background screening vendors, benefits platforms, and payroll as required.

Early Careers:

  • Attraction and University Engagement - support the planning and delivery of campus events; coordinate logistics for university partnerships; maintain the Early Careers presence on social media and job boards, ensuring content is current and compelling
  • Recruitment and Selection Administration - manage application tracking and candidate communications throughout the process; schedule and coordinate assessment centres, interviews, and online testing; and prepare and distribute assessor materials, collecting feedback and maintaining accurate records in the ATS
  • Programme Management & Candidate Experience - Coordinate the day-to-day logistics of our internship and graduate programmes, including onboarding, rotation scheduling and reviews; act as primary point of contact for interns and graduates, providing pastoral support; gather and analyse feedback from programme participants and hiring managers to support continuous improvement; and maintain programme trackers, reporting dashboards and process documentation

What makes a great candidate:

  • Strong academic experience - AAA or above, as well as a 2:1 degree from a top university (or international equivalents)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident working with data and systems, and willing to learn new platforms
  • Strong organisational ability
  • Any prior exposure to HR administration, internship, or work experience in a professional services environment is desirable
  • People-focused, discreet and trustworthy, energetic, collaborative, and approachable

Why join us?

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop broad expertise in a small HR team at a sophisticated, intellectually demanding environment, with exposure to senior stakeholders and the full range of HR activity.
