Project Manager, Operations

Remote

Role Overview

We’re looking for a technically capable, highly organized, and detail-oriented operator to join the Operations team at NEAR Foundation, working alongside the Chief of Staff. The role sits at the intersection of strategy and AI-driven execution — combining analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and hands-on delivery.

You’ll help the Foundation and broader NEAR ecosystem leverage AI to work smarter: reviewing operational processes, implementing automations, and using NEAR AI’s suite of products to streamline how teams operate.

The ideal candidate is conscientious, proactive, and comfortable switching between strategic coordination and tactical execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Drive high-impact projects across technical, operational, and ecosystem domains — from ideation through MVP launch and iteration.
  • System Design: Build, refine, and automate workflows that align teams, accelerate delivery, and scale across the organization.
  • AI Dogfooding: Actively use and stress-test our internally developed AI products — integrating them into real workflows and providing structured, actionable feedback to engineering.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, product managers, and ecosystem leads to ensure seamless execution and tight feedback loops.
  • Prototyping & MVPs: Set up early pilots, frameworks, and MVPs that validate ideas quickly and turn experimentation into insight.
  • AI-Driven Workflow Design: Leverage “vibe coding” (creative prompt engineering and AI orchestration) to prototype automations and optimize processes.
  • Tool Mastery: Stay fluent across modern AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, Midjourney, etc.) to enhance productivity and creativity.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks and design AI-enhanced systems to remove friction and improve scalability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 3–5 years in consulting, big tech, or high-growth tech & crypto startups.
  • Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Skills & Qualities:
    • Strong interest, knowledge or experience in crypto (must-have)
    • Strong attention to detail and follow-through; highly organized and dependable.
    • Excellent communicator — concise, structured, and effective across functions and levels.
    • Technically fluent; comfortable with AI tools, prompt engineering, and automation or scripting (“vibe coding”).
    • Analytical and data-driven; able to turn data into insights and insights into action.
    • Self-starter with a bias for ownership and problem-solving.

We value

  • ECOSYSTEM-FIRST: always put the health and success of the ecosystem above any individual's interest
  • OPENNESS: operate transparently and consistently share knowledge to build open communities
  • PRAGMATISM OVER PERFECTION: find the right solution not the ideal solution and beat dogmatism by openly considering all ideas
  • MAKE IT FEEL SIMPLE: strive to make the complex feel simple so the technology is accessible to all
  • GROW CONSTANTLY: learn, improve and fail productively so the project and community are always becoming more effective
