Office Manager – The Nest (Lisbon)
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Type: Full-time, On-site (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm)
About The Nest
The NEAR Foundation is launching The Nest — an exclusive crypto co-working and community hub in Lisbon. Designed to bring together passionate professionals from across the blockchain and AI ecosystems, The Nest is where innovation, collaboration, and community meet.
With a premium workspace equipped with fixed and hot desks, meeting rooms, and event facilities, The Nest aims to be the go-to hub for Lisbon’s growing crypto scene — a place to share knowledge, make new connections, and have fun.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a highly organized, personable, and pragmatic Office Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at The Nest. You’ll be the first point of contact for members, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that the space reflects our commitment to excellence and community.
This role requires someone who’s hands-on, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic environment. You’ll manage vendors, supplies, communication channels, and assist in organizing events that bring the community to life.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of The Nest and ensure smooth functioning of all facilities.
- Coordinate with suppliers, service providers, and contractors to maintain a clean, efficient, and welcoming space.
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies (office materials, coffee, consumables, etc.).
- Handle any administrative paperwork related to finance, contracts, and compliance.
Community & Member Support
- Be the go-to person for members — answering questions, resolving issues, and supporting onboarding.
- Manage The Nest’s communication channels (group chat, Notion workspace, access systems, etc.).
- Gather and synthesize member feedback; propose improvements to enhance member experience.
- Build strong relationships with members to foster a sense of belonging and collaboration.
Events & Programming
- Support planning and execution of internal and public events (meetups, happy hours, talks, etc.).
- Coordinate bookings and logistics for external event rentals.
- Liaise with event organizers to ensure seamless setup, breakdown, and communication.
About You
You’re someone who combines warmth and professionalism with a get-things-done attitude. You enjoy being part of a fast-moving, tech-driven community and know how to make people feel at home — while keeping operations tight.
Qualifications & Skills
- Fluent in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal skills — approachable, empathetic, and confident in managing relationships.
- Interest in crypto and AI — comfortable engaging with professionals in the space.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving abilities; able to handle multiple priorities calmly.
- Proactive and pragmatic — you spot what needs to be done and make it happen.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with the broader NEAR Foundation team.
Work Conditions
- Full-time, on-site in Lisbon — Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
- Reports to the NEAR Foundation’s Operations team.
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
We value
- ECOSYSTEM-FIRST: always put the health and success of the ecosystem above any individual's interest
- OPENNESS: operate transparently and consistently share knowledge to build open communities
- PRAGMATISM OVER PERFECTION: find the right solution not the ideal solution and beat dogmatism by openly considering all ideas
- MAKE IT FEEL SIMPLE: strive to make the complex feel simple so the technology is accessible to all
- GROW CONSTANTLY: learn, improve and fail productively so the project and community are always becoming more effective
