Head of Accounting Processing
Napoleon is Belgium's go-to entertainment brand, and we're just getting started.
For over 40 years, we've been creating moments that matter: the last-minute goal, the lucky spin, the live race that has you on the edge of your seat. Today, we do that across sports betting, casino, and 18 gaming arcades across Belgium.
We're proudly Belgian and genuinely international. As part of Super, a technology and entertainment group active across 12 countries, we combine the energy of a local brand with the scale and ambition of a global player. That means real opportunities to grow, learn from brilliant teams across Europe, and make your mark on products used by millions.
If you like moving fast, thinking big, and being part of a team that genuinely celebrates wins together, you'll fit right in.
You'll be joining Napoleon's finance leadership team as the person who keeps the financial engine running. As Head of Accounting Processing, you own the transactional accounting backbone of our Belgian group, managing a team of four accountants across invoice-to-pay, month-end close, statutory compliance, and multi-entity reporting. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller Belgium, you're also a key voice in group-level projects: legal restructurings, acquisitions, disposals, and external audits.
What the role involves
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of four accountants, organizing workload, managing cover, and running performance and compensation reviews in line with a demanding closing calendar.
- Build a resilient, knowledge-sharing team culture where people grow their skills and the function gets stronger over time.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Own an accurate and reliable monthly closing process across multiple Belgian entities (Napoleon Games NV, NGG NV, Napoleon Sports NV, ECK NV Grand Casino Knokke, and others), coordinating accruals, cut-off, and revenue reconciliations for both online and retail (arcades).
- Ensure the timely collection of monthly data extracts from the business to support group reporting.
Invoice-to-Pay
- Own the purchase invoice and payment process end-to-end — including approval workflows in Continia and corporate card management — and act as the control layer on payments before release by Treasury.
- Manage urgent and manual payment requests, ensuring the right approvals and controls are in place at every step.
Audit & Compliance
- Serve as first point of contact for external auditors across interim and year-end audits, statements of assets and liabilities, and subsequent-events confirmations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation across all entities and ensure compliance with Belgian statutory, VAT, and sector-specific tax obligations.
Group Projects
- Play an active role in legal restructurings, entity transfers, and M&A-related accounting — including purchase price adjustments and completion accounts — working alongside advisors such as EY and Deloitte.
Process Improvement & AI-Enabled Finance
- Standardize, optimize, and automate accounting workflows, keeping them compliant with internal policies, audit requirements, and applicable legislation.
- Champion the adoption of modern, AI-powered finance tools within the team.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, (Applied) Economics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of accounting experience, including several years leading an accounting or shared-services team.
- Strong command of BE-GAAP and Belgian statutory, VAT, and sector-specific tax obligations (including gaming taxes), with confident handling of intercompany flows, recharges, and audit files.
- Proven people manager: able to plan and prioritize team workload around a demanding closing calendar, coach and develop direct reports, and run performance and compensation cycles.
- Hands-on experience with an ERP such as Microsoft Business Central and invoice-approval tools such as Continia, as well as spend-management platforms such as Payhawk or Rydoo.
- Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
- Fluent Dutch and professional-level English.
- A hands-on, deadline-driven communicator who engages clearly with auditors, tax authorities, business stakeholders, and group finance — and stays composed when an urgent payment or audit request lands on your desk.
- Strong sense of ownership and discretion, with a drive to standardize, automate, and continuously improve processes rather than simply maintain them.
Nice to have
- ITAA certification or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience in a multi-entity, high-volume transactional environment, ideally in gaming, retail, or consumer businesses.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and group reporting standards.
- Interest in AI-enabled finance tools and their practical application in a transactional accounting context.
- Professional proficiency in French.
Your Growth Path
This is a senior leadership role with real room to grow. As Napoleon and the wider Super group expand and the finance organization evolves, natural next steps include broader Finance Manager or Head of Accounting responsibilities at group level, or a move toward controlling and FP&A leadership — supported by ongoing exposure to strategic projects, restructurings, and a multi-country finance community.
