
Senior Software Engineer
Senior Software Developer (Backend)
Hybrid - Reading, UK (3 days per week in the office)
We're looking for a backend-leaning Senior Software Developer to join our growing engineering team and help build the technology that powers Montu UK. You'll work with TypeScript, React, NestJS, PostgreSQL (RDS), AWS Lambda and other modern cloud technologies to build scalable products that directly support patient care.
This is a hybrid role based in Reading, with an expectation of working from the office three days per week.

What You'll Do

Design, architect and build scalable, high-performance applications using modern technologies.

Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS.

Build and enhance cloud infrastructure using AWS, ensuring security, scalability and reliability.

Own solutions from discovery through to delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to solve complex business problems.

Contribute to technical design, code reviews and engineering best practices.
What We're Looking For

5+ years' experience in software development.

Strong experience building backend applications with Node.js and TypeScript.

Experience designing scalable distributed systems and APIs.

Working knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, SQS and related cloud technologies.

Strong understanding of software architecture, testing and engineering best practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working within cross-functional teams.
