About the role
As a Senior UX researcher, you’ll be the voice of our users. You’ll play a critical role in shaping our product strategy by uncovering deep insights into the needs, behaviours, and aspirations of our users—especially within Nigeria.
We’re on a mission to create financial happiness for every African, and your research will directly influence how we design products that are accessible, intuitive, and impactful. You’ll collaborate closely with our creators to ensure our solutions are grounded in real-world market realities.
Key responsibilities

Lead and execute end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research across the product lifecycle—from discovery to delivery.

Use a range of methods including in-depth interviews, ethnographic studies, usability testing, surveys, and diary studies, with a focus on the Nigerian context.

Synthesise complex data into actionable insights and frameworks (personas, journey maps, mental models) that drive empathy across the team.

Stay ahead of fintech and consumer trends in Nigeria and comparable markets through continuous landscape analysis.

Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate business challenges into research questions.

Act as the subject matter expert on Nigerian user needs, guiding our local expansion and regional growth across Africa.

Structure and scale our research operations, including participant management and maintaining organised research repositories.

Present findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels to drive action and product improvements.
Qualifications
-
6+ years of experience in UX research or product research, ideally with digital B2C products.

Deep experience researchng African markets, specifically Nigeria.

Advanced expertise in qualitative and quantitative methodologies (co-creation, usability testing, literature reviews, etc.).

Hands-on experience with tools like UserTesting, Maze, Typeform, or similar platforms.

Proven track record of translating insights into tangible frameworks that guide business decisions.
Preferred qualifications

Experience building or engaging with active user communities in Nigeria.

Background in fintech or banking environments.

Experience scaling research practices in a fast-growth startup or scale-up.
