  • Partner closely with product, design, data, compliance, and operations to ship high-impact features.
  • Align engineering decisions with business priorities and user needs.
  • Communicate technical challenges, trade-offs, and priorities to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers into senior roles and emerging team leads through structured development practices.
  • Handle interpersonal, technical, and cross-functional conflicts with maturity and transparency.
  • Support the team during periods of ambiguity or high-critical operational pressure.
  • Work effectively with teams distributed across time zones.

To succeed in this role, you should have

  • 10+ years of software development experience with deep exposure to large-scale, distributed systems (e.g., millions of financial transactions per day).
  • Strong technical depth in backend architecture, distributed systems, data consistency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Proven experience owning or designing systems responsible for financial flows, real-time data, or mission-critical transactions.
  • Ability to navigate trade-offs and guide teams through complex technical decisions.
  • 2-3+ years as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead with people-management responsibilities.
  • Experience growing and mentoring engineering teams, especially in fintech or payments.
  • Comfortable leading teams across time zones and managing distributed execution.
  • Track record of delivering significant features or platforms in close collaboration with product, business, and design.
  • Ability to articulate technical considerations in business terms and align teams toward shared outcomes.
  • Skilled at balancing technical debt, delivery pressure, and long-term platform health.
  • Exceptional communicator able to simplify complexity and provide clarity in decision-making.
  • Experience resolving conflicts, technical disagreements, interpersonal issues, and stakeholder misalignment with fairness.
  • Ability to maintain team morale and alignment during stressful or fast-changing situations.
  • BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
