About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on, analytically minded Head, Credit Collections to design and run Moniepoint’s consumer lending collections function. You’ll own repayment instruments and integrations, lead a high-volume collections contact centre and outsourced partners, and use data to optimise recoveries and customer experience across millions of loans in Nigeria.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and manage repayment infrastructure; direct debits, card-on-file, standing orders, bank transfer integrations and reconciliations.
  • Lead and scale the collections contact centre and external agencies, including staffing, training, scripts, KPIs and compliance.
  • Develop and implement early, mid, and late-stage collections strategies to maximise recoveries while protecting customer experience.
  • Build dashboards and reports on delinquency trends, repayment instrument success rates, agent performance, and recovery curves to drive decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Risk to embed “collections by design” into new products and automate workflows.
  • Ensure all repayment channels and collections practices comply with Nigerian regulations and consumer-protection rules.
  • Analyse customer repayment behaviour to identify risks, segment portfolios, and recommend interventions to improve loss rates and reduce churn.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships (payment processors, credit bureaus, collection agencies) to optimise performance and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in credit/collections management, ideally in fintech or high-volume consumer lending.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing repayment instruments and payment integrations.
  • Strong operational leadership running a call centre or outsourced collections team.
  • Proficiency in analytics and BI tools to monitor portfolio and agent performance.
  • Deep understanding of Nigerian regulatory requirements for collections and repayment systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering and Risk.
