About the role Role

As a Communications Specialist at Moniepoint, you’ll help tell our story in a clear, engaging way. Collaborating closely with the Corporate Affairs team, you’ll gather and craft content that highlights Moniepoint’s impact. You’ll be responsible for developing innovative campaigns, uncovering fresh content opportunities through data insights, and creating captivating pieces for various platforms, including social media and reports. By forging strong relationships with internal teams, you’ll gather and share powerful narratives that enhance our brand message and resonate deeply with our audience.

Job Purpose 

We’re looking for a modern-day Malcolm Gladwell- someone with a knack for transforming facts into engaging narratives that breathe life into our mission. If you can take intricate ideas and simplify them into relatable content and thrive on writing and building connections, we’d love to meet you. You’ll play a pivotal role in sharing Moniepoint’s story, making it clear, relatable, and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape Moniepoint’s brand voice and ensure all content aligns seamlessly with our messaging strategy.
  • Translate complex issues into compelling and accessible content that speaks to our stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate and oversee the collection and production of engaging stories.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar that showcases a diverse array of stories and content.
  • Ask insightful questions and build rapport with story subjects across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to gather content from the field and internal audiences to support our editorial strategy.
  • Partner with the Communications and PR teams to develop innovative campaigns and uncover new content possibilities.
  • Craft impactful content for various channels, including websites, social media, reports, and external communications efforts. 

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a communications role, with a portfolio of work to show the production of self-developed content.
  • The ability to mine and engineer stories from seemingly unsentimental situations. 
  • Structured approach, eye for detail and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Strong research, collaboration and planning skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Track record of using purposeful storytelling to drive organizational impact and business results.
