This is an incredible opportunity to join one of the most promising fintechs working on solving problems at the heart of financial inclusion. As our Head of Product, Cards, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our new cards program for this exciting global product vertical, effectively building the foundation for a global card offering from scratch.
About the role
Location : London (hybrid, 2-3 days a week at the office). We’re based in a modern office near Southwark station in downtown London.
As Head of Product, Cards, you will define and deliver a compelling best-in-class card program, ensuring it integrates seamlessly into our multi-currency and cross-border product vertical. This role will focus on providing the African diaspora with global card solutions that enable them to transact both locally in the UK and in Africa. Additionally, you’ll help build a platform for SMBs in Africa to access GBP/USD/EUR accounts for international trade.
This is a unique chance to:
- Build a card product from the ground up, managing the full lifecycle from design to launch.
- Collaborate with card schemes, processors, and personalization bureaus to establish partnerships and integrations critical for success.
- Develop the backend infrastructure needed to process card payments, ensuring seamless connections between card processors and our core banking systems.
- Create a world-class customer experience with innovative card features tailored to our global audience.
We’re looking for a product leader who thrives on solving complex problems, has a vision for what a transformative card program and experience should look like, and is excited about driving financial inclusion on a global scale.
Job responsibilities:
- Product Vision: Define the product roadmap for our card program, aligning with the broader multi-currency account and cross-border payments strategy.
- Leadership: Hire, coach, and scale a high-performing team of product managers.
- Card Operations: this includes selecting card manufacturers and personalization bureaus, managing relationships with card schemes and processors to set up agreements and integrations, developing backend systems to process card payments, including the bridge between processors and core banking systems, and overseeing card operations, including handling disputes and ensuring operational excellence.
- Cross functional collaboration: Work with engineering, design, compliance, and risk teams to execute the product vision.
- Regulatory and Compliance: Develop and implement security protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Market Leadership: Build a best-in-class global card experience that supports the needs of individuals and SMBs transacting between Africa and the rest of the world.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of product management experience in the financial or payments industry, including building card products.
- Proven experience working with card schemes (e.g., Visa) and understanding of card program management.
- Track record of successfully leading product teams and driving results in high-growth environments.
- Prior experience in a start-up / scale-up is a must.
- Several years of experience building consumer products (b2c) at scale, which have an incredible UX and which users absolutely love.
- Strong technical acumen; an engineering background is a plus.
- Deep understanding of payment systems, product lifecycle strategies, and operational excellence in cards.
- Experience managing a P&L in a product leadership role or similar capacity.
- Ideally, experience launching consumer fintech products in the UK market.

- A 60-minute interview with the CTO of our multi-currency account business unit.
- A 45-minute interview with the hiring manager (our CEO, UK).
- A 45-minute interview with our Group CEO and Founder.
