Product Manager (all genders) - Diagnostics

Munich, Germany

Join us as a Product Manager - Diagnostics (m/f/d) in our Diagnostics & Monitoring team on a shared journey that matters!

The Diagnostics & Monitoring Team builds and operates the foundation for vehicle health visibility.

We aim to provide end‑to‑end diagnostics and monitoring landscape that enables insight into the health, state, and fault behavior of vehicles throughout their lifecycle.

Our work ensures that vehicle issues can be detected early, diagnosed reliably, and understood consistently. By providing standardized diagnostics and vehicle health monitoring capabilities, we enable stable vehicle operation, efficient troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of vehicle functions and services.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain the diagnostics roadmap for vehicle components, aligned with product and operational priorities.
  • Define and prioritize diagnostic use cases, ensuring meaningful coverage across vehicle health, fault detection, and operational transparency.
  • Drive end‑to‑end fault traceability across systems, enabling consistent tracking from vehicle through SDS and backend services.
  • Standardize diagnostic event definitions, logging formats, and data contracts to ensure consistency and reusability across teams and domains.
  • Define and evolve error and fault management workflows, covering detection, reporting, analysis, and resolution.
  • Coordinate and synchronize diagnostic processes across vehicle, connectivity, and SDS domains to ensure coherent end‑to‑end behavior.
  • Work closely with Monitoring, OTA, and Data Processing teams to ensure diagnostics are integrated into operational and lifecycle processes.
  • Ensure alignment with System Architecture, Safety, and Cybersecurity requirements, incorporating regulatory and compliance constraints into diagnostic concepts.
  • Promote a value‑oriented approach to diagnostics, linking logs and fault information to business, operational, and customer impact.

What will help you to fulfill your role

  • Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics concepts, including fault codes, events, signals, and vehicle health assessment across the vehicle lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of logging and tracing concepts and frameworks used in automotive and distributed environments (e.g. ETAS, Vector, OpenTelemetry, or comparable solutions).
  • Familiarity with remote vehicle diagnostics and fault management, including backend‑supported analysis and lifecycle use cases.
  • General understanding of error‑handling and diagnostic architectures spanning in‑vehicle systems and backend services, with awareness of end‑to‑end implications.
  • Ability to reason about distributed, vehicle‑centric systems, including how faults propagate and how traceability can be achieved.
  • Experience in defining and prioritizing cross‑domain capabilities, spanning diagnostics, monitoring, OTA, and related operational functions.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, enabling alignment across engineering, architecture, operations, and product teams.
  • Ability to support and maintain product roadmaps in complex, multi‑team environments.
  • Solid hands‑on professional experience in a relevant field, with a proven track record of successfully delivering results in complex environments.
  • Practical experience working in a SAFe setup, including PI Planning, feature alignment, and dependency mapping.
  • Ability to translate technical diagnostic concepts into product‑level considerations, balancing vehicle needs, system constraints, and long‑term consistency.

We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role since we are looking for a diverse range of experiences, skills, and interests. We are certain that there will be something for everyone because we are working on such a variety of tasks and embrace individual growth at MOIA.
