Join us as a Senior Test Automation Engineer (m/f/d) in our MaaS Intelligence Domain on a shared journey that matters!

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Test Autuomation Engineer/Quality Specialist to lead testing initiatives across our MaaS Intelligence domain, which is our core domain that orchestrates trips through trip management and service configuration, enabling seamless ridepooling experiences.

As a Quality Specialist in this domain, you'll drive testing strategies for backend services that multiple teams contribute to, identify gaps in quality processes, and establish best practices that elevate the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems.

You will collaborate closely with several cross-functional teams to ensure our ridepooling services run smoothly and efficiently for our customers. If you are passionate about automation, API testing, and enabling teams to own quality while driving technical excellence, we want you on board!

What you will do

  • Lead Quality Initiatives across the Ridepooling Intelligence domain, serving as the primary QA resource for several engineering teams
  • Implement a shift-left approach by actively participating in design discussions and identifying potential risks, edge cases, and use cases before development begins
  • Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies for our ridepooling API and related backend services
  • Identify quality gaps in our processes and test coverage, proactively addressing areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for gRPC, REST, and GraphQL APIs
  • Drive adoption of testing best practices across engineering teams
  • Establish quality metrics and reporting to track improvements
  • Partner with developers and mentor them on quality practices and test-driven development

What will help you to fulfill your role 

  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, articulating clearly quality concerns, risks, and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with backend test automation, using tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST Assured or similar API testing frameworks.
  • Proven ability to set up and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency and proven experience in at least one modern, high-level programming language. We use Python, JVM languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala)
  • Experience working with microservices architecture and distributed backend systems, including cloud-based deployments on AWS.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to ensure continuous quality in deployments.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Kibana, and the ability to analyze logs for better issue resolution.
  • A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a strong eagerness to learn new technologies, ask the “right” questions during development and testing, and support teams in expanding their quality capabilities.
