Market Analyst - London
At Modo Energy, we're building the global standard for benchmarking and valuing the world's electrification assets - unlocking returns for battery energy storage, solar, wind and data centres.
About Modo Energy
Trillions of dollars of electrification assets - batteries, solar, wind, data centres - are being deployed worldwide. But the tools used to value them are fragmented, opaque, and slow. Modo Energy exists to fix that.
We’re an AI-native intelligence platform that provides the benchmarks, forecasts, and research the energy industry needs to finance, build, and operate electrification assets with confidence. Our customers use Modo Energy to value multi-market portfolios, accelerate financings, and break ground on infrastructure that will power millions of homes.
In December 2025 we raised a $30m Series B which is accelerating our plan to become the global standard for valuing electrification assets. We are expanding from five markets to twenty, delivering programmable forecasts as cloud-run software, and building AI-powered workflows that let users simulate, interrogate, and understand asset value in real time.
Billions of dollars of assets have already been underwritten using Modo Energy’s intelligence. We’re just getting started.
The role
We’re looking for a Market Analyst to join our GB team, Modo Energy’s largest and most established region. You’ll build and ship the forecast, benchmarking, and research products our customers rely on to value assets like battery energy storage and solar. This is a high-impact role: you’ll have real responsibility and direct interaction with our customer base from day one.
What you’ll do
- Source, process, and interpret complex energy datasets to drive forecasting and research
- Build and ship power market and dispatch models that value electrification assets across GB
- Communicate the story behind our numbers: translating technical analysis into clear, compelling narratives for customers and colleagues
- Work closely with engineering teams to ship models into the Modo Energy Terminal
- Use AI tools throughout your workflow to accelerate analysis, build products, and ship faster
What we’re looking for
- Degree in a quantitative field (maths, engineering, physics, computer science, or similar)
- 3-5 years’ experience in power markets: ideally in price forecasting, dispatch, and optimisation
- Strong programming skills in Python (or R, C++, Java); comfortable with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy
- Familiarity with GB and European power markets, including renewables and market design
- Excellent written and verbal communication - you can explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences
- Hands-on use of AI tools to build models, do analysis, or ship products
- Experience with cloud environments (e.g. AWS) and optimisation frameworks is a plus
The kind of person who thrives here
You’re curious, rigorous, and commercially minded. You care about data quality but also about what the data means for real decisions. You communicate clearly and enjoy working across teams - with engineers, sales and account managers, and customers. You actively use AI to work smarter and ship faster. You take ownership and want your work to have direct impact.
Details
- Location: London
- In-office Tuesday-Thursday; flexible on Mondays and Fridays
- 25 days annual leave, plus medical, dental, and pension
