Position Overview

As a Project Assistant, you will provide administrative and operational support to Michels Power's project management and regional operations teams in Itasca, Texas. You will help keep projects organized and moving forward by supporting job setup, reporting, document preparation, project systems, correspondence, and day-to-day administrative needs.

You will serve as a key resource for Associate Project Managers, Project Managers, Regional Managers, and other team members while working across multiple systems and priorities. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys supporting others, solving problems, and delivering exceptional internal customer service.

Success requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize competing demands, and the initiative to independently follow tasks through to completion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to project management and regional operations teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project setup activities within B2W, including emergency job setups as required.
  • Prepare and distribute project reports, correspondence, documents, and other business communications.
  • Generate and maintain reports using COINS, B2W, Power BI, and other applicable systems.
  • Support the administration and organization of Michels Power's SharePoint Online sites.
  • Assist with company initiatives, process improvements, system rollouts, and other operational support activities.
  • Maintain and promote Michels Power's strong safety culture while following applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

  • Assist Associate Project Managers, Project Managers, and Regional Managers with daily administrative and clerical responsibilities.
  • Set up new projects and jobs in B2W while ensuring information is complete, accurate, and entered in a timely manner.
  • Respond to occasional emergency job setup requests outside normal business hours, including weekends.
  • Compile project information and generate recurring or ad hoc reports for appropriate team members.
  • Create, review, organize, and distribute emails, letters, reports, and project documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining SharePoint content, project information, and online collaboration resources.
  • Support new company programs, technology initiatives, process changes, and operational rollouts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather information, resolve administrative issues, and keep project-related tasks moving forward.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records while managing multiple requests and deadlines.

What It Takes

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 3-5 years of related administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively support project leaders, operations teams, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize business and project systems used for reporting, job setup, and project administration.
  • Experience with B2W, COINS, Power BI, SharePoint Online, or similar business systems is preferred.
  • Experience preparing reports, correspondence, documents, and other professional communications.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with the broader team.
  • Ability to respond to emergency business needs and complete occasional weekend job setups with short notice, typically 5-10 times per year.
  • Associate's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Previous customer service experience, either face-to-face or through phone and electronic communications, is preferred.
  • Previous experience within the Michels Family of Companies or the construction, utility, or infrastructure industries is preferred.
  • No travel required.
