As a Project Controls Specialist, you will support project-controls activities across some of North America's largest and most complex hyperscale data center developments. Your work will provide project teams with the visibility and performance insights necessary to make informed decisions and successfully execute major infrastructure programs.

Position Overview

As a Project Controls Specialist, you will support project-controls functions across large-scale hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.

During the early phases of project delivery, you will assist with project-controls activities supporting site development, utility construction, procurement planning, construction mobilization, and major earthwork operations. As projects advance, you will support cost tracking, forecasting, budgeting, schedule integration, progress measurement, reporting, change management, and project-performance analysis.

Working closely with Project Managers, Project Controls Managers, Construction Management, field leadership, accounting, procurement, scheduling, engineering, and executive stakeholders, you will help maintain visibility into project performance and support informed decision-making.

Success requires strong analytical capabilities, financial awareness, organizational discipline, communication skills, attention to detail, and a desire to continuously improve project performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project-controls activities including forecasting, budgeting, cost tracking, reporting, progress measurement, and project-performance analysis.
• Assist with maintaining project budgets, cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, earned-value metrics, and project dashboards.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, labor productivity, equipment utilization, procurement activities, and production trends.
• Support monthly forecasting cycles, performance reviews, and project-reporting processes.
• Assist with identifying budget variances, schedule impacts, procurement risks, forecasting gaps, and performance trends.
• Support development and maintenance of project-controls systems, tools, procedures, and reporting standards.
• Assist project teams in maintaining accurate project-performance data and reporting consistency.

What You'll Do

• Support project-controls efforts across hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Analyze project costs, commitments, forecasts, labor productivity, procurement status, production quantities, and project financial performance.
• Develop and maintain project reports, executive dashboards, KPI metrics, forecasting models, and performance-tracking tools.
• Assist project teams with budget management, cost tracking, change tracking, forecasting activities, and cash-flow reporting.
• Support project reviews, forecasting meetings, risk assessments, operational reviews, and executive-reporting activities.
• Collaborate with accounting, procurement, project management, construction operations, field leadership, engineering, and scheduling teams to maintain accurate project information.
• Track project trends and identify opportunities for improvement in forecasting, reporting, productivity, procurement readiness, and project performance.
• Assist with earned-value analysis, labor-performance evaluations, procurement reporting, and change-management tracking.
• Support project startup, construction execution, commissioning, turnover, and project-closeout reporting requirements.
• Assist with implementation and continuous improvement of project-controls processes, systems, business-intelligence tools, and reporting standards.
• Support development of cost forecasts, risk reports, variance analyses, and corrective-action recommendations.
• Help maintain project records, performance dashboards, and project-controls documentation.

What It Takes

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, Project Management, Economics, or a related discipline and 2+ years of project controls, project management, cost controls, scheduling, finance, accounting, construction, engineering, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting construction, mission-critical, data center, EPC, utility, industrial, power, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost management, earned value, project reporting, procurement tracking, productivity measurement, and project-performance analysis.
• Experience supporting project financial analysis, cost reporting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis, variance analysis, or operational reporting preferred.
• Ability to analyze project costs, commitments, labor productivity, production trends, procurement status, and financial-performance data.
• Experience supporting project-controls activities on major earthwork, utility, industrial, infrastructure, power, EPC, or mission-critical projects preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Power BI, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, InEight, Oracle Primavera, SAP, Oracle, EcoSys, Prism, Deltek Acumen, or similar project-controls platforms preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with project teams, field personnel, accounting, procurement, scheduling, construction management, and executive leadership.
• Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to support long-term, site-based project assignments at hyperscale data center and mission-critical construction projects throughout North America. This position is primarily project-based, with regular interaction occurring directly with field operations and project leadership. Initial project opportunities are expected to be located in Wisconsin, Missouri, Wyoming, and Texas, with future assignments determined by business needs and project awards.
