Position Overview

As an Electrical Project Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy industrial electrical construction projects from project startup through commissioning and closeout. You will be responsible for project safety, financial performance, contract administration, procurement, scheduling, customer relationships, subcontractor management, and overall project execution.

This position supports projects involving industrial electrical systems, power generation facilities, Midstream energy infrastructure, compressor stations, pipeline facilities, manufacturing plants, processing facilities, and other critical electrical infrastructure throughout North America.

Success requires strong leadership, communication skills, business acumen, and a commitment to delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of project execution from project award through commissioning, startup, turnover, and closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, schedules, procurement activities, and overall financial performance.
  • Coordinate activities among customers, engineering teams, field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project planning, staffing strategies, procurement plans, execution plans, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships while serving as the primary project contact throughout execution.
  • Identify project risks, schedule impacts, constructability concerns, and operational challenges while implementing effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with project contracts, customer requirements, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Manage industrial electrical and energy infrastructure construction projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support projects involving:
    • Industrial electrical and inside wiring systems
    • Medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution
    • Switchgear installations
    • Transformer installations
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Compressor station electrical systems
    • Pipeline facility electrical infrastructure
    • Power generation facilities
    • Manufacturing and process facilities
    • Commissioning, startup, energization, and turnover activities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
  • Monitor project costs, change orders, productivity, equipment utilization, and financial performance.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure contractual obligations, quality standards, safety requirements, and schedule commitments are achieved.
  • Conduct customer meetings, project reviews, forecasting meetings, and operational planning sessions.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, estimates, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Estimators, and executive leadership teams.
  • Support project commissioning, startup, owner training, turnover, and closeout activities.

What It Takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline and 5+ years of project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing industrial electrical, Midstream energy, power generation, manufacturing, utility, EPC, or heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical construction methods and electrical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience managing projects involving medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, industrial controls, and electrical equipment installations.
  • Experience supporting compressor stations, pipeline facilities, power generation assets, industrial process facilities, manufacturing operations, or similar infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, procurement, subcontract management, risk management, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated success leading customer-facing projects while balancing safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar project management platforms is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% and support project assignments throughout North America as required.
