The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for executing procurement activities in a timely manner while operating within established authority and approval limits. This role involves monitoring purchase orders and proactively following up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services. Success in this position requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to represent Michels Corporation professionally in all interactions. Maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating professionalism, and upholding a positive company image at all times are essential requirements of the role.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct price and vendor research to obtain quotes
- Ensure timely execution of purchase orders and contract signatures from suppliers
- Create recommendations on the best supplier of materials and services
- Support activities of personnel engaged in buying and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, parts and supplies
- Maintain records in software system: create and edit purchase orders and manage vendor quote list
- Identify new supplier opportunities and complete initial research of supplier
Qualifications:
- Associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Computer proficiency
- Proficiency with using eProcurement or eSourcing tools (desired)
- Relevant industry experience (desired)
