Position Overview

The Executive Vice President of Measurement, Analytics, & Research at Method Communications is a business leader with deep expertise in communications measurement, marketing and comms analytics, and research methodologies within an agency environment. This role is responsible for developing and executing measurement and research strategies for primarily B2B clients, connecting communications programs to business outcomes, while building and scaling a world-class measurement and research practice. 

This role combines strategic leadership, business development and revenue growth. With a focus on building innovative capabilities and service offerings to provide value to current and future clients, the EVP will be responsible for generating both organic and new revenue as a member of the executive leadership team  to help chart the next era for Method. 

The EVP is a strategic leader, actively engaged in the day-to-day operations of the measurement, analytics, and research team. They also provide leadership, oversight, and direction to propose unique solutions to client needs and ensure results that align with client business goals. They will support and deliver concierge service to clients and internal teams, alike. Reporting to the COO, they will collaborate with the people ops, finance and operations teams on internal agency initiatives like technology implementation, organizational development, new business efforts, and measurement against business goals. 

Responsibilities 

Agency Leadership

  • Lead a team focused on measurement, analytics, and research guiding strategy on new products and services by identifying and implementing process improvements, training and mentoring team members, and helping them grow and expand their industry knowledge.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients and team leads on how Method’s capabilities can support communication goals and broader business objectives. 
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, thought leadership, earned media, AEO, analyst relations and PR specialist teams to develop insights, strategies, and solutions. 
  • As an active agency leader, provide input on decision-making issues affecting the agency – new business, best practices, client service and using data for strategic purposes. 
  • Proactively share knowledge with the agency and clients on industry trends and approaches, best practices and innovations. 
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance measurement, analytics, and research team; attract, recruit and retain team members; deliver constructive and clear feedback to ensure level requirements are met.
  • Stay up-to-date and make recommendations on the latest tools and expanded services offerings Method should consider, in partnership with specialists such as head of AEO, IT/AI leadership, and others. 
  • Support Method’s business through strategic inclusion of insights in various external materials including award nominations, blogs, social media posts and bylines.
  • Participate in account staffing and evaluating team structures to maximize account quality and profitability.
  • Work with the finance and people ops teams to deliver against revenue goals for the agency.

Account Leadership

  • Oversee the design, management and execution of a wide variety of measurement, analytics, and research projects. 
  • Advise clients and internal teams on the right measurement and analytical approach for each program, defining KPIs, baselining performance, and tracking outputs, outcomes, and business impact across earned, owned, shared, and paid channels.
  • Oversight for all related SOWs, contracts, proposals and strategic briefs 
  • Develop innovative new product offerings to meet the needs of current and future clients
  • Build and own measurement frameworks that map comms activity to client business goals, grounded in recognized industry standards (e.g., AMEC Integrated Evaluation Framework, Barcelona Principles) and oriented toward outcomes over vanity metrics.
  • Oversee core analytics deliverables including media analysis, share of voice, message pull-through, sentiment and tonality analysis, competitive benchmarking, and executive-ready dashboards and data visualization.
  • Provide oversight and direction of project and program budgets, timelines and resource needs.
  • Define how program performance will be reported back to clients: cadence, dashboards, and a clear narrative connecting comms outcomes to the client's business objectives.
  • Execute and demonstrate Method’s Concierge Service Delivery approach to clients and teams.

Business Development

  • Proactively partner with agency team leads across departments and sectors, existing and prospective, to identify new measurement, analytics, and research opportunities across Method accounts and VCCP brands, with an emphasis on integrated campaigns and revenue growth.
  • Develop new integrated measurement, analytics, and research offerings, with particular focus on comms ROI and pipeline-influence measurement, qualitative research, and advanced analytics, including emerging surfaces such as AI/answer-engine visibility measurement, in partnership with the AEO team.
  • Expand personal/professional network to enhance the Method brand, grow Methods client and research project portfolio, in order to offer optimal solutions to clients.
  • Set and track team related revenue goals, keeping the management team and finance apprised of new business projected and secured revenue via a business plan. 
  • Develop and maintain research capes materials which focuses on outlining Method’s measurement, analytics and research offering. These tools will support the agency to better understand our service offerings and provide the support needed to grow client accounts. 
  • Participate in new business pitches and project scoping, ensuring proposals are well researched, properly scoped and polished.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a PR or marketing agency 
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a proven track record building, leading, and overseeing a team of strategy, research, measurement, and analytics staff.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience
  • AI native, with a strong grasp of current models and an understanding of how AI is reshaping comms measurement itself, including how brands are represented in AI-generated answers and how that visibility is tracked.
  • A strategic thinker, collaborator, creative problem-solver and articulate communicator who can synthesize complex data into actionable strategies
  • Demonstrated effective client management (internal or external) skills, including executive presence and presentation skills and ability to lead clients towards a balance of quality, budget and timing
  • Deep expertise measuring the effectiveness of B2B comms and marketing programs, including experience connecting comms activity to pipeline and business outcomes, and a working understanding of attribution's strengths and limits. B2C experience a bonus.
  • Fluency with industry measurement standards (AMEC Integrated Evaluation Framework, Barcelona Principles) and a clear point of view on moving clients beyond outputs and AVEs toward outcome- and impact-based measurement.
  • Experience in client prospecting and new business pitching, including upselling measurement, research, and other services to existing clients 
  • Ability to design primary research materials (questionnaires, discussion guides, report templates), manage data collection and analysis and prepare final, client-ready reports
  • Experience  building measurement and analytics deliverables end to end: KPI frameworks, media and content analysis, share-of-voice and sentiment tracking, dashboards, and client-ready performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across the measurement and analytics stack: media monitoring and social listening (e.g., Signal AI, Brandwatch, Meltwater-class), survey platforms, data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker), and AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude), with a pulse on emerging AI-visibility/GEO measurement.
  • Ability to lead and contribute meaningfully to client meetings to support larger business goals using unique solutions 
  • Ability to work independently, self-directed, strong work ethic and adherence to deadlines
  • Adaptability and flexibility to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment demonstrated by creative problem solving through unexpected client and market challenges

Salary Ranges

We believe all employees should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. We’ve provided the following salary ranges for the locations we operate in below due to their state regulations. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location. 

Salary Range: $225,000 - $250,000

Work Arrangement:  We welcome applications from qualified remote candidates in the states we operate in who can accommodate periodic travel for collaboration and team meetings. 

Important: If you reside within 50 miles of one of our hub offices (San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Boston, or New York City), you are required to work a hybrid schedule (minimum of two days per week in-office).
