IT Manager & AI Architect, Operations

Position Overview
Method is an integrated communications agency with offices in Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and New York City, supported by a dynamic remote workforce across the country. As one of the fastest-growing PR agencies, we need technology that scales as quickly as we do. We are looking for a skilled and resourceful IT Manager & AI Architect to serve as the backbone of our IT and AI technology infrastructure.
In this role, you will help us build, connect, and secure the AI systems powering our agency's work and be the primary point of contact for all IT needs across the agency. You’ll be responsible for keeping our systems running smoothly so our employees can focus on supporting clients while serving as the internal authority on AI security and data privacy. You’ll work closely with our team to build integrations across our tool stack, manage proprietary agency tools, and help us identify and implement the latest AI solutions. From managing office network infrastructure to maintaining cybersecurity protocols and supporting AV systems in our offices, you will own the full scope of our day-to-day technology operations, including employee onboarding and offboarding support. This is a hands-on role well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and takes pride in being the person everyone can count on when technology matters most. We're looking for a proactive problem-solver who turns complex technical challenges into seamless solutions that will help keep our agency moving forward.
This is a hybrid role and requires in-office work in a hub location at least three days per week and as needed.
Responsibilities
IT Administration:
- Act as the initial escalation point for IT
- Assist employees with IT issues and concerns promptly
- Collaborate and coordinate with IT team of our parent company, VCCP to troubleshoot and problem solve when issues arise
- Drive completion of quality project deliverables within time and budget constraints
- Maintain/improve service delivery & effectiveness of IT to the business
- Management and delivery of all IT Services and processes
- Management and support of all Method network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN/Internet, Wi-Fi, and VPN
- Help the business implement / deploy AI technology as appropriate
- Utilize effective communication methods with stakeholders and act as an enabler for change
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of all documentation
- Management and Support of the Enterprise Services platform, including Google Workspace, Azure/Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP and DNS in conjunction with the group / central technology team
- Responsible for the management of all internal & client security and risk standards and documentation
- In conjunction with VCCP’s IT team, ensure the business follows internal & client risk and security standards – Business Continuity, Client Contracts, General Computer Controls etc
Hardware Security & Management:
- Manage the full hardware lifecycle of company computer assets, including procurement, setup, decommissioning and recycling
- Manage and monitor IT hardware inventory effectively and efficiently
- Project manage upgrades, installs, and new technology testing
- Monitor employee hardware health, coordinate repairs and hardware replacement as needed
- Streamline employee onboarding and offboarding while adhering that all company security policies are maintained
AI Implementation:
- Serve as the agency's primary advisor on AI security, with a focus on client data confidentiality and responsible AI use
- Evaluate new AI tools and agentic workflows to provide clear, actionable guidance on adoption risks and mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain internal standards for safe AI use across the agency, including guidance on tools like Claude Code and similar agentic platforms
- Help identify integrations across the agency's core tool stack, including tools like Signal AI, Muckrack, Google Workspace (Gemini, Gmail, Docs, Drive), Sprout Social, Canva, and Adobe products
- Identify opportunities to reduce tool redundancy and connect platforms that currently operate in silos
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a modern IT support or systems administration role, preferably within a distributed or hybrid workforce.
- Understanding of AI security principles, particularly around data privacy, prompt security, and agentic AI risk.
- Proficiency in macOS and iOS management, including experience with MDM solutions like Jamf or Kandji.
- Strong grasp of Google Workspace Administration and the ability to manage complex permission structures and shared drives.
- Experience managing modern AV hardware (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Logitech, or Crestron) and troubleshooting physical office networking.
- Passion for emerging AI technologies and interest in developing creative solutions that scale.
- Adept at implementing core IT Ops processes such as user on/off boarding and asset lifecycle management
- Proficiency with multiple LLM, especially Google Gemini, Slackbot, Claude, etc.
- Experience in detailed technical troubleshooting of hardware/networking/Wi-Fi related issues (preferably with Cisco Meraki)
- Familiarity working in fast-paced, demanding environments. Agency or professional services experience a plus.

Salary Ranges
We believe all employees should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. We’ve provided the following salary ranges for the locations we operate in below due to their state regulations. If your market is not listed below, your specific salary band will be discussed during the recruitment process. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location.
- State of California: $135,000 - $165,000
