Senior Manager Renewable Energy

Purpose/ Mission:

• Ensure that the supplier of renewable power to be delivered to the interface point at the Meranti Green Steel (MGS) plant in Rayong, Thailand, meets the agreed schedule, quality and quantity and meets all required permitting and statutory requirements including third party access (TPA) to the Egat and PEA/MEA transmission grid and distribution grid respectively.
• Ensure that the suppliers of renewable power meets the agreed delivery price (THB/kWh) and CO2 level (g/kWh) at the interface point at the MGS plant in Rayong.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with renewable power supplier frequent progress meetings and meetings when required to resolve specific challenges.
• Take part in meetings between renewable power supplier and Thai authorities, incl. ERC, Egat and PEA/MEA.
• Review renewable power supply optimisation studies and other related studies.
• Review proposals by renewable power suppliers.
• Review Direct Power Purchase Agreements (DPPA) templates and take part in negotiations on behalf of MGS Thailand
• Propose template and review and comment on weekly and monthly progress reports by the renewable power supplier and present to Senior Director Renewables and present final comment to the renewable power supplier.
• Propose solutions to any challenges, difficulties, delays etc. faced during the project development and implementation and present to the Senior Director Renewables for decision on way forward.
• Specific work-related assignments as directed by the Senior Director Renewables.
• Support the CEO and other Lead Team members where requested.

Requirements/ Skills/ Experience:

• Experience in the power industry in Thailand.
• Experience in working with Thai power and energy authorities, incl. ERC, Egat, PEA/MEA and other relevant authorities.
• Experience in large scale power project development and implementation in Thailand, experience in renewable projects, specifically solar pv and wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS), pumped storage systems and other storage systems.
• Experience in solar pv, wind and hydropower projects annual energy production (AEP) assessment and calculations.
• Experience in Egat and PEA/MEA electrical transmission and distribution systems.
• Experience in working in multinational and multicultural teams.

Required Education/ Qualification/ Training:

• Engineering degree, additional training in project management an advantage.
• MBA an advantage

Required Language Proficiency:

• English - Fluent
