Legal Manager

Purpose/ Mission:

  • The Legal Manager will serve as a key legal advisor to the Owner, ensuring that the company’s operations adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. This position encompasses a broad spectrum of legal responsibilities, including the drafting and review of agreements and contracts, oversight of corporate governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advising on labor law matters. Additionally, the Legal Manager will be entrusted with the diligent management of confidential Owner-related information.
  • In this role, the Legal Manager will collaborate closely with various departments to facilitate effective communication and coordination on legal issues. The position demands a high degree of discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to work seamlessly across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct legal support to the Owner/Committee/Owner’s Personal Assistant on both personal and various business matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Advise on corporate governance and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Manage legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, with external counsel when necessary.
  • Advise on and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, including employee rights, and employment contracts.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that could affect the company’s operations.
  • Ensure the company complies with all local, national, and international laws.
  • Collaborate with Finance, secretary, and other departments to ensure regulatory compliance across the organization.
  • Identify potential legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external legal counsel for specialized legal support.
  • Work closely with the committee and owner’s personal assistant to coordinate legal matters, ensuring effective communication and timely execution of tasks.
  • Provide legal insights and support to committee and personal assistant to facilitate the owner’s business decisions.
  • Handle and ensure that all sensitive owner-related data, business affairs involving the owner’s information are conducted with the highest level of discretion.
  • Manage to arrange documentation and any other ad-hoc as assigned.
  • Support the CEO in all relevant tasks where requested.

Requirements/ Skills/ Experience:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience, including legal affairs and legal compliance
  • An understanding of Thailand’s government’s regulation and lawsuit
  • Fluency in written and spoken Thai & English
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication with different audiences
  • Lawyer License (preference)
  • Knowledge of relevant sectors, e.g., corporate law, tax policy, and business planning

Required Education/ Qualification/ Training:

  • Master’s / Bachelor Degree in a relevant field, for instance Master of Law

Required Language Proficiency:

  • English - Fluent
