About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Art Director / Brand Design Lead to own, evolve, and scale Mentimeter’s visual brand combining exceptional creative craft with systematic thinking and modern, AI-enabled ways of working.

This is a hands-on creative leadership role with line management responsibility, where you’ll set the creative direction for our brand while designing the systems, principles, and tools that allow high-quality design to scale across a fast-growing SaaS organization.

You’ll lead a team of designers, partner closely with Brand Creative, Product Marketing, Growth, and Product, and champion the thoughtful use of AI in the creative process enabling faster exploration, smarter production, and consistently high creative standards across every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Direction, Systems & Scalability

  • Own and evolve Mentimeter’s visual identity, ensuring it is distinctive, cohesive, and scalable across brand, product marketing, campaigns, and launches.

  • Define and maintain strong brand systems including design principles, guidelines, templates, and modular assets that enable teams to move fast without losing quality.

  • Balance long-term brand consistency with flexibility for experimentation, growth, and new use cases.

Creative Leadership & Craft Excellence

  • Set the creative bar and direction for key initiatives, from content concepts and launches to brand storytelling and product narratives.

  • Lead concept development and design execution for high-impact projects, remaining hands-on where it matters most.

  • Act as a quality gate for all brand and marketing design, ensuring clarity, craft, and strategic alignment.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Line-manage and develop a team of brand and marketing designers, supporting both craft growth and systems-oriented thinking.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement where designers understand not just what they design, but why.

  • Provide clear feedback, coaching, and direction to help the team grow in both creative excellence and operational maturity.

AI-Driven Creative Practice

  • Lead the adoption of creative AI tools across brand and marketing design, integrating them thoughtfully into ideation, production, and iteration workflows.

  • Identify opportunities where AI can improve speed, scale, and experimentation without compromising brand integrity or creative quality.

  • Establish best practices and guardrails for using AI as a creative co-creator, maintaining high ethical and quality standards.

  • Stay up to date on emerging AI capabilities and assess their relevance for Mentimeter’s creative ecosystem.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Brand & Product Marketing, Growth, Product, and Sales Enablement to translate strategy into clear, compelling visual communication.

  • Advocate for brand consistency, systematic thinking, and scalable design solutions across teams.

  • Collaborate with Producers and Creative Ops to ensure workflows, tools, and timelines support both quality and velocity.

Who You Are

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Art Director, Brand Design Lead, or similar role in a digital-first environment.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand leadership, systems thinking, and scalable design across multiple channels and surfaces.

  • Proven experience managing and developing designers, with a leadership style that balances clarity, trust, and ambition.

  • Deep understanding of brand systems, modular design, and how visual identity scales in a product-led organization.

  • Hands-on experience with creative AI tools and workflows (e.g. AI-assisted ideation, image generation, layout exploration, or production automation).

  • Comfortable working at both strategic and tactical levels from defining long-term brand direction to solving day-to-day design challenges.

  • Confident communicator who can articulate design decisions, align stakeholders, and elevate creative thinking across the organization.
