Accounting Senior Consultant/ Manager - 1-Year Engagement

Amman, Jordan - Baghdad, Iraq

Location: the position will be based in Amman, Jordan, and would require travelling to the client's site in Baghdad on a need basis.
Years of Experience: 4-8 years.
Project Duration: 1 year.
Working Arrangement: on-site.
Language Requirements: Fluency in Arabic & English (written and spoken).

The Accounting Senior Consultant/Manager will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting support to the client across core financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and process efficiency. The role covers the full spectrum of accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit support. The consultant/manager will also act as a key liaison for communication and reporting to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality financial management and transparency.


Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliation.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and inventory management from a finance perspective.

  • Solid background in tax compliance and maintaining records for tax filings.

  • Experience supporting audit processes.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in fintech or technology-driven environments.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.


Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills to manage reporting and interactions with stakeholders.

  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a client-facing role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including reconciliations and reporting.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper tracking of cash flow.

  • Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage inventory accounting and reporting from a finance perspective.

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for internal and external use.

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by maintaining appropriate records and supporting filings.

  • Support audits with documentation and reporting.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

  • Serve as the key point of communication for financial updates, reporting, and issue resolution with the client.
