As a Junior Scientist, you’ll support one of these units and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and commercial teams, to bring our revolutionary products from concept to large-scale production.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Help reduce the global environmental footprint by assisting in the development of green construction materials.
- Unleash your inner scientist by conducting cutting-edge lab experiments, analyse data, and develop innovative new products that challenge traditional material science.
- Assist in completing scientific testing and production to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Work closely with experts from various departments to foster knowledge-sharing and teamwork as we work toward a common goal.
- Prepare and test samples according to client or company-specified methods.
- Accurately enter and maintain laboratory test data within our systems.
- Use market research and attend industry conferences to stay up-to-date on trends and help inform the development of new, innovative products.
- Collaborate with other R&D business units and participate in long-term projects
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- PhD degree in Civil Engineering (Cement and Concrete Technology), Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience in a Cement and Concrete research laboratory setting.
- Understanding of scientific principles and methodologies of designing concrete as construction material.
- Exposure to or interest in milling methods (e.g., ball, disk, drum, hammer) for material processing. Hands-on experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Foundational knowledge of material characterisation techniques such as PSD, XRD, SEM/EDX, or TGA, with a willingness to learn and gain proficiency.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a desire to collaborate in diverse, multidisciplinary environments.
- Passion for innovation and sustainability, particularly in the cement and concrete industry.
