The impact you will make

We are seeking a hands-on, motivated Lab Technician who thrives in a dynamic workshop and laboratory environment. The successful candidate will support experimental operations, assist with device assembly and disassembly, and contribute to the development and maintenance of diagnostic and scientific equipment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building, testing, repairing, and collaborating closely with scientists and engineers. The technician will also independently travel to experimental sites to support the installation, alignment, and verification of equipment, they should have a basic understanding of electromechanical systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Ownership and responsibility of workshop areas and equipment.
  • Participation in safety and technical training programs, including hands-on training with devices
    and lab protocols.
  • Support logistics operations, including:
    • Packing and preparing sensitive diagnostic and experimental equipment for internal shipping.
    • Cleaning, repacking, and returning devices after experiments.
  • Assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of scientific and diagnostic equipment.
  • Reclamation of parts and components from disassembled electronics and diagnostic devices.
  • General hands-on lab work and support during experimental campaigns.
  • Travel to experimental facilities to assist in the setup, installation, and alignment of devices.
  • Help gather scientific data from analog equipment supporting experimentalists.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers on the design, setup, and execution of experiments.

What you bring

  • Proven experience in workshop or laboratory environments
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on hands-on tasks, including off-site experimental support
  • Basic understanding of electromechanical installations and mechanical alignment procedures
  • Comfortable working with tools, diagnostic instruments, and lab equipment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

What sets you apart

  • Crane operation experience
  • Experience working with vacuum equipment and in cleanroom environments
  • Familiarity with high voltage systems and associated safety practices
  • Experience with machining tools and techniques
  • Previous experience in shipping, handling, and maintaining sensitive scientific instruments
