As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and realization of our state-of-the-art high-power laser facility. This new facility aims to demonstrate the unique features of our laser-driven fusion concept, marking significant strides toward fusion energy generation.
Your Responsibilities:
Part of a dynamic team and play a crucial role in overseeing the holistic integration of various subsystems from conceptualization to operation
Gather and define detailed requirements, develop the system architecture, and coordinate the integration of hardware and software components across different engineering disciplines
Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
Develop and oversee comprehensive testing plans to validate performance, maintain detailed documentation, and implement continuous improvement strategies
Actively involved in all stages of the process, contributing to the project's implementation
This role is primarily based in Munich, with occasional travel to research facilities worldwide.
What you bring
Completed a degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field
1-2 years of experience developing large, integrated, and complex systems, preferably in areas such as fusion, energy, aerospace, transportation, or similar fields
Proficiency in physical systems engineering life cycle processes, with hands-on experience in their implementation within fast-paced projects
Awareness of complex control systems
General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, I&C, and industrial concepts with the ability to learn and apply new technical concepts
Strong foundational knowledge of electromechanical systems as well as wider mechanical and electrical engineering concepts
Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills, with the ability to proactively engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders
Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English
