Purpose of the role

The Central & Operations Compliance team are a team of five and cover a wide range of Compliance topics including Central (Code of Ethics, Complaints, SMCR, Governance), Fund & Investment Operations (CASS, Regulatory Reporting including EMIR & MiFID, AIFMD), Shareholding Disclosures, Regulatory Outsourcing & Technology.

This role plays a vital part in a key control function within Non-Financial Risk, providing exposure to all areas of the business and will be the primary point of contact for management of the Compliance Code of Ethics programme and will produce Compliance Management Information, directly supporting governance submissions to the group's Risk & Finance and Audit & Risk Committees, whilst ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal standards.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work across a range of compliance responsibilities, utilise advanced technologies to reshape the approach to working and develop expertise in a dynamic and technology-driven environment.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Management of the Code of Ethics system, including handling employee queries related to Personal Account Dealing, Gifts & Entertainment, and Outside Business Activities.
  • Draft and coordinate employee attestations and manage escalations of outstanding attestations and training.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring on Code of Ethics matters to detect non-compliance and issue breaches, manage conflicts of interest and produce related Management Information.
  • Utilise MAIA (Man Artificial Intelligence Accelerator) and other advanced technology platforms to improve efficiency in processes and enhance monitoring coverage.
  • Support the production of Compliance Management Information, including monthly Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Compliance Reports for the Risk & Finance and Audit & Risk Committees.
  • Production of statistics for Business Unit Systems & Controls Committees.
  • Support coverage of broader team topics particularly in the Compliance Monitoring Programme.

Technical Competencies

  • Either some prior work experience in Compliance or an Operations role with transferable technical skills (e.g. middle office, regulatory reporting)
  • Managing workflows: High - prioritises, make preparations, schedules, stays focused and identifies opportunities to improve processes
  • Building successful working relationships: High – seeks opportunities, clarifies current situation, facilitates agreement, uses key principles
  • Making effective decisions: Medium – identifies issues, problems and opportunities, gathers information, interprets information, generates alternatives, chooses appropriate action, commits to action, involves others for escalation.
  • Computer literate, able to work with and manipulate data, excellent communication skills.
