Purpose of the role

The Senior Investment Services Associate will have overall responsibility for investment content creation across a group of Man Group’s Discretionary flagship funds.

The role requires developing a significant technical specialism in key investment funds within Man’s Discretionary business area, so as to be able to credibly write, and present, investment content in a compelling and effective manner. These materials will need to be prepared on a regular basis for use with Man's institutional and retail client base.

A key element of the role will be to develop deep and credible relationships with the relevant Discretionary investment and CPM teams and to become a go-to source for Sales on the sub-set of funds covered. The successful applicant will be expected to produce high quality and professional materials quickly, efficiently and to a high standard.

 

Specific responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a full range of investment collateral, including fund marketing (new product launch materials, monthly performance commentaries), technical content (questionnaire and client queries) and sales enablement content (meeting materials, investment outlooks, product updates)
  • Shape compelling and differentiated product messaging to help position strategies competitively
  • Provide ongoing technical expertise on a set of products to various internal and external stakeholders (including clients), acting as a subject matter expert
  • Communicate on specific market events, performance updates, and product milestones
  • Partner with the Discretionary portfolio management, CPM, and other key stakeholders across the business so as to ensure content is impactful and of the highest quality
  • Write webcasts and performance updates/educational videos to promote fund capabilities and offerings
  • Identify opportunities and initiate projects where Investment Services can add value for the portfolio manager, sales force and wider business
  • Ensure that the latest fund research, analysis and messaging is incorporated into all materials
  • Act as an ambassador for IS internally and be a positive role model to junior members of the team

Key Skills & Experience

  • Degree level education in a relevant discipline required. CFA, CAIA or IMC qualification is preferred although not essential
  • Approx. 3-4 years’ Client Service or Content Creation experience within the industry and a solid understanding of the financial landscape investment management / hedge fund space preferred
  • Ability to work with senior members of sales and investment management to support sales priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in understanding institutional / retail client expectations and requirements
  • Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Ability to work independently within a team to meet demanding deadlines. Works comfortably in an entrepreneurial environment, seeks to continuously enhance own relevant skills
  • Good ability in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong analytical ability with good attention to detail / accuracy
