Main Purpose
The role sits within the London based Fund Financial Reporting (FFR) Team which oversees the Fund Financial Reporting and Audit obligations across Man Group’s circa 300 fund entities.
The successful individual will be responsible for supporting the team in all aspects of this work which is focused on the delivery of accurate, audited and board approved financial statement. Working with skilled professionals in a small team, the apprentice will have strong opportunities for on the job learning across all the team’s core activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the administrative function of the FFR team including eg: the production of reporting & audit timetables, tracking of financial statement production against those timetables, and monitoring the status of issues & queries arising escalating to experienced team members and management as required.
- Organising and collating of reporting required to provide to the Fund Administrators as part of financial statement production, and to the auditors as part of their reviews.
- Facilitate response to standing and ad hoc information requests from auditors and fund administrators throughout the fund reporting cycles.
- Assist in the review of draft financial statements for accuracy, consistency and compliance with regulatory and reporting frameworks.
- Assist with the production of monthly and ad hoc internal reports.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on team processes and policies.
- Support the continuous improvement in the Financial Statements process
Key Skills & Experience
- Interest in studying accounting and financial reporting courses as a route to becoming a qualified Accounting Technician (and possibly a Chartered Accountant in the future).
- Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise contending demands
- IT literate and comfortable with use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A team player, who is also comfortable to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
