Job Profile Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk assessments of new applications and 3rd party vendors

  • Perform due diligence reviews on service providers

  • Provide technical security consultancy and advice

  • Involvement in Information Security incident response procedures
     

  • Assist with the evaluation and purchase of new security technology:
    - Identify and meet with vendors to understand their product/service
    - Work with the Commercial Management to run RFPs/RFIs
    - Produce proposals to purchase new products or services for the review of the COO, CFO and others
    - Provide assistance to IT for the deployment of new products and services
     

  • Assist in the management of  the information security monitoring platform:
    - Respond to alerts – assess risks, cascade and escalate accordingly
    - Deal with technical issues and problems as they arise, working with teams in the Technology Group and the 3rd party security monitoring vendor
    - Work with external penetration testers to schedule scans; work with IT to track and remediate any identified issues
     

  • Assist in the provision of security awareness training including:
    - Management of the employee phishing training programme
    - Management of the security awareness programme
    - Provide high-quality written summaries of key security issues and events to increase awareness of information security in employees and senior management
     

  • Assess other information security alerts and vulnerabilities:
    - Provide technical risk assessment of vulnerabilities
    - Cascade and escalate accordingly
    - Work with technology teams to determine remediation plans
     

  • Assist with management of the identity governance platform by:
    - Working with application support and development teams to on-board new applications to the platform
    - Working with Engineering develop the platform and resolve problems
     

  • Review and approve/reject information security-related requests including (but not limited to):
    - Website unblock requests
    - Requests for privileged accounts
     

  • Assess information security risks of IT changes:
    - Attend weekly change control meetings

 

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Good understanding of technical security principles and how they apply to a broad range of technology

  • Experience in implementing technical security policies and standards

  • Experience of liaising with external security vendors

  • Background in IT infrastructure with experience of liaising and working closely with infrastructure and/or development teams

  • Strong communication skills with ability to adapt approach to different audiences

  • Good adaptable personality

  • Ability to grow and develop with the team and take additional responsibilities

  • Understanding of technical security architectures

  • Continuous security review and assessment skills

  • Experience in the financial services industry

  • Experience in security industry

  • Security related qualification such as CISSP desirable
