About the Role  

Man is undergoing a significant infrastructure project in 2025 and we are searching for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis to help us hit our goals. We have positions available in our Windows, Linux and Storage Engineering teams. You’ll tackle the day to day running of the infrastructure while helping deliver on critical project work.  

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the Windows Infrastructure engineering team, which resides in Platform. With scope to work on all aspects of the infrastructure, you'll tackle impactful projects, receive formal training, gain mentorship from senior leaders and develop a thorough understanding of our business. Man runs a hybrid working model, we aim for this individual to do 4 days a week in office.  

 

What can you learn?  

  • Management of servers at scale using modern open source tools such as ansible, terraform and Grafana.  
  • Managing hypervisor platforms such as VMware & OpenStack at scale with thousands of cores and terabytes of storage and memory 
  • Automation using various tools with slack integration 
  • Deep understanding of datacenter infrastructure and enterprise architecture  
  • Public Cloud knowledge 

 

What does the day to day look like? 

  • Reviewing alerts and data in Grafana to understand the estate’s health 
  • Responding to BAU requests in Slack & ServiceNow  
  • Working on projects to improve the security and efficiency of the estate  
  • Regular engagement with cross-functional teams and stakeholders 

 

Key Skills & Experience  

  • Technical experience gained through open-source contributions, 2+ years of relevant industry experience 
  • Experience managing and maintaining Windows Server at scale 
  • Experience automating tasks or writing scripts in languages such as PowerShell, Python or Bash  
  • Experience working in environments where change control is required  
  • In-depth understanding of the Windows Platform and it’s components e.g. Active Directory, Failover Clusters. 

 

 Desirable Key skills & experiences:   

  • Understanding of how source control and continuous deployment workflows work with tools like git  
  • Self-organised with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage time across multiple projects  
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills 
  • Self-starter with a desire to learn and understand more about the business environment in which you work  
  • Experience with hardware and datacenters  
  • Experience and understanding of networking protocols
