The Team / Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of Man Group tax team and be involved in the oversight of the tax affairs of the investment solutions provided by Man Group across all business units and investment strategies including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Private Markets.

The Tax Department, based centrally in London, manages and advises the Group's business units globally, in relation to product development, investment issues, tax risk and compliance oversight and AEOI throughout a product's lifecycle.

The right candidate will have strong technical knowledge and an ability to build working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the group. They will oversee the control and compliance framework for the funds, ensuring funds meet their regulatory obligation accurately and in a timely manner

Your Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in ad hoc tax advice on product development across all business units ensuring the advice is appropriate to the investment distribution strategy
  • Leading on new fund launches and SMA’s tax review work, liaising with different stakeholders across Man
  • Assist with tax related queries from the business and investors concerning fund structures and asset classes traded
  • Assist with oversight of the tax risk management framework for all the Group's investment products including private market strategies in USA & Europe, including the maintenance of internal policies and framework documents
  • Support and oversight the team in the compliance obligations for the funds, including ASC 740/IFRIC 23, ECI testing, investor reporting in USA and European countries, as well as sourcing/compiling tax reporting information requested by clients
  • Assisting the business with technical queries regarding AEOI compliance and support ensuring that the Group and its investment products meet their AEOI obligations
  • Creating and maintaining internal procedures, policies and framework documents
  • Assist with the private market’s platform maintenance and oversight, including REIT compliance, tax returns, transaction analysis and coordination of advice with tax advisors
  • Assist with the build and maintenance of the European private markets’ platform, including structuring and transactional advice on deals, as well as set up and upkeep of compliance for fund entities
  • Preparing meeting materials and assist with organizing and preparing touchpoints with the business units and different stakeholders as part of the fund’s risk framework

Your Background / Experience:

  • Experience in a tax role within the Financial Services industry
  • Tax technical knowledge in operational taxes and US taxes (partnerships, 40 Act Funds, ECI and treaty structures beneficial)
  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified
  • Ability to be analytical, problem solve with a good attention to detail with a record of identifying and dealing with issues as they arise
  • Ability to drive others, plan and deliver projects in time
  • Be motivated, self-driven and excited by an operational role with changing priorities and objectives often with tight deadlines
  • Possess strong team working skills, willing to put forward ideas and challenge current practices
  • Be a strong communicator with good organization skills, capable of communicating and engaging a large variety of people at many different levels within the firm
