Job Description

The Senior Payment Network Optimization Specialist is a technical role within the Product team dedicated to maximizing the health and efficiency of Mangopay’s payment processing network. As our payments volume grows, this role ensures that our technical performance matches our innovative product suite.
You will also work closely with our payments partners to ensure all Mangopay clients are compliant with card processing standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Authorization & Performance Excellence

• KPI Management: Own the optimization of authorization rates, fraud-to-sales, and chargeback performance through advanced data monitoring and performance tuning.
• Issuer and payment partner Liaison: Manage relationships with key ecosystem participants and issuers to troubleshoot authorization bottlenecks and improve global acceptance rates.
• Deep-Dive Analytics: Utilize internal data tools to identify systemic improvements in the payment path, reducing friction for merchants and cardholders.

Technical Data Integrity & Mandates

• Data Stewardship: Oversee processes ensuring that clearing and settlement data across our network meets the highest levels of accuracy and scheme compliance.
• Technical Execution: Lead the technical implementation of specific card processing needs for 3DS, tokenization, and authorization messaging, partnering with Product teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Roadmap Management: Track and socialize technical deadlines for payment partner-driven changes, ensuring Mangopay’s infrastructure is prepared for upcoming industry shifts.

Technical Governance & Security Compliance

• PCI-DSS Leadership: Manage the end-to-end validation process for merchant SAQ and RoC submissions, ensuring the continued security of our processing environment.
• Compliance Reporting: Submit bi-annual technical reports and manage the relationship with Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs) during recurring audits.
• Incident Response Coordination: Provide technical expertise during security reviews or breach response scenarios, ensuring all scheme reporting obligations are met with precision.

Experience

You are recognised for:

• 5+ years of experience in technical payment operations, payment engineering, or technical compliance for a major PSP or global acquirer.
• Technical Breadth: Deep understanding of ISO 8583, 3D Secure frameworks, and the technical mechanics of the authorization and settlement lifecycle.
• Security & Compliance Expertise: Strong background in PCI-DSS governance and a history of successfully managing technical audits.
• Data-Driven Problem Solving: Expert ability to monitor and analyze payment performance data; professional experience with SQL and Snowflake is required.
• Cross-Functional Influence: Proven ability to lead complex technical projects that require collaboration between Treasury, Engineering, and Security teams.
• Relevant Certifications: PCIP, CISA, or similar technical certifications are a plus.
