Job Description 

As the Compliance Officer, acting as the Regulatory Leader, you will be responsible for implementing and operating Mangopay's compliance policies and frameworks. Your role will involve providing guidance to our leadership team, analyzing regulatory changes, ensuring timely engagement on regulatory reporting and requests, and warranting Mangopay is equipped to adapt to these changes while considering commercial implications. Your expertise will be crucial in building and maintaining strong regulatory relationships and promoting a robust risk & compliance culture across the organization.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Providing Strategic Guidance: Briefing Mangopay's leadership on EU compliance and financial crime matters, ensuring appropriate strategies, controls, and policies are in place to effectively manage risk

  • Developing and Implementing Compliance Policies: Designing, implementing, and operating Mangopay's compliance policies, processes, tools, and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor, and report key compliance and AML/financial crime risks

  • Monitoring Regulatory Changes: Staying abreast of new and upcoming EU regulatory changes, conducting analysis and providing advice to ensure Mangopay can adapt and make informed decisions, considering both regulatory compliance and commercial aspects

  • Regulatory Relationship Management: Overseeing the key regulatory relationships in Luxembourg, maintaining regular interaction with the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF)

  • Promoting a Strong Regulatory and Risk Management Culture: Championing a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the organization, fostering a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks

  • Proactive Compliance Risk Management: Establishing effective compliance controls to identify, measure, monitor, and report emerging and future risks, ensuring timely action is taken to mitigate potential issues on AML, Outsourcing and Regulatory

  • Accurate Reporting and Tracking: Implementing reporting mechanisms across all compliance responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of reporting for internal and external stakeholders

  • Staying Informed on Industry Developments: Continuously researching and reviewing industry developments, focusing on regulatory and industry insights, to keep Mangopay at the forefront of compliance best practices

  • Training and Collaboration: Conducting training sessions for local colleagues on compliance topics, and supporting colleagues globally by providing guidance and answering compliance-related queries

  • Integral Member of Leadership Team: Acting as a valuable member of the Luxembourg leadership team, supporting strategic decision-making and providing compliance expertise with the support of the Authorised Manager in charge of Risk and Compliance

What do we expect from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus

  • Extensive experience in compliance within the financial services industry, preferably in a Fintech or payment solutions company

  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, particularly in the Luxembourg financial services sector

  • Experience in managing relationships with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies

  • Proven leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure

 Soft skills:

  • Leadership: Inspire and guide the regulatory compliance team, while influencing stakeholders across the organization

  • Communication: Articulate complex compliance concepts effectively to diverse audiences, including senior management and non-compliance staff

  • Adaptability: Stay flexible and adapt to new regulatory developments and industry changes

  • Problem-Solving: Analyse complex compliance issues, assess risks, and make informed decisions

  • Integrity and Ethics: Uphold the highest ethical standards and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, building trust within the organization and with external stakeholders
