User Access Analyst
Lookers Head Office Manchester – Remote with occasional travel to a Lookers Dealership
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time - 6 Months Fixed term Contract
Salary: £27,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30
About the role
We’re looking for a User Access Analyst to join our IT team and play a vital role in keeping our systems secure, compliant and audit-ready. You’ll be responsible for managing user access across the employee lifecycle, ensuring the right people have the right access at the right time.
Accuracy, attention to detail and adherence to defined processes are critical in this role. You’ll work closely with IT, managers and third parties to support joiners, movers and leavers, manage access requests and contribute to ongoing access reviews and process improvements.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing Joiners, Movers, Leavers and additional access requests in line with defined processes
- Setting up, amending and removing access across internal systems and third‑party applications
- Ensuring all access requests comply with IT Security and Data Protection policies
- Obtaining, recording and maintaining appropriate approvals and audit trails within the IT Service Management tool
- Managing tickets effectively to meet KPIs, ensuring accurate categorisation, status updates and reporting
- Supporting quarterly access reviews and cleanses, recording actions and supporting evidence
- Identifying and removing access that is no longer required due to role changes or leavers
- Coordinating with third‑party suppliers where they manage their own system access
- Reviewing and updating process documentation to keep guidance accurate and up to date
- Supporting audits, security and compliance activity across the function
What we’re looking for
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage high‑volume, detailed work
- A high level of attention to detail, particularly when handling user access and sensitive data
- Basic IT knowledge; experience with Entra ID or Active Directory is desirable but not essential
- Comfortable working within structured processes and following approval and security controls
- Confident using ticketing or service management tools
- Ability to recognise risk and challenge or escalate requests that don’t meet policy requirements
- Clear written communication skills and confidence maintaining accurate records
- A willingness to learn new systems and ways of working
- Awareness of IT security and data protection principles, or a strong desire to develop this knowledge
