What you will do

As a Senior Backend Engineer you will be a key player in developing our core pricing manager system, which covers critical features like overbooking autopilot and our new Recommendations Engine. Your work will focus on building distributed services, APIs, and the infrastructure that powers our pricing recommendations. You will collaborate closely with data science engineers, product managers, and other engineers to deliver high-impact solutions for the hospitality industry.

Where you will have impact

• Develop and maintain backend services for our core Revenue Management System.
• Build and manage distributed services, data pipelines, and autopilot infrastructure using Go and Python.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional squad to deliver high-quality, impactful features from concept to deployment.
• Apply your architectural thinking to influence decisions on service boundaries, data ownership, and technical tradeoffs.
• Utilize AI coding tools like Claude Code to accelerate development, documentation, and other daily tasks.
• Contribute to the full development lifecycle, including reading, reviewing, and occasionally contributing to our frontend codebase.
• Ensure the reliability and performance of our systems, which expose pricing recommendations to key internal services.

You'll be joining the Pricing Innovation team, a core part of our Groups & Chains vertical. We're a close-knit, cross-functional squad of frontend and backend engineers, a product manager, and a designer. Our team is the driving force behind features like overbooking autopilot and the upcoming Recommendations Engine. We have a strong culture of ownership and collaboration, and we're big on AI enablement, actively using tools like Claude Code to work smarter. We're a proactive bunch who love to learn and aren't afraid to defend our ideas to build the best product possible.

Who you are

• Strong backend development skills with solid experience in at least one of Go or Python/Django.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional squad with clear and transparent communication.
• An architectural mindset with clear opinions on service boundaries, data ownership, and technical tradeoffs.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code, with a positive attitude toward integrating them into your workflow.
• A product-minded approach, with a focus on understanding the user and business impact of your technical decisions.
• A proactive, collaborative, and ownership-driven approach to your work.
• The ability to read, reason about, and contribute to frontend code when needed.
• Fluent in English.

We welcome

• Experience with the other backend language you have less experience in (Go or Python/Django).
• Familiarity with our frontend stack (Ember.js/TypeScript) or other modern frameworks like React.
