We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team and help us build solid products. The design and development of scalable, reliable backend services and their maintenance require the fine craftsmanship of skillful backend engineers. They are pillar stones of our company; they give life to and nourish our highly anticipated and highly acclaimed product. As the old adage goes: “The Backend giveth and the Backend taketh away”

About the Position

Must-Have

• Strong engineering skills and programming fundamentals
• Have +2 years of software development experience
• Experience with Python
• Experience in Relational DBMS like MySQL
• Experience in API design and development
• Experience with Git version control system
• Experience with Unit testing, integration testing
• Capacity to learn quickly about new systems and techniques
• Strong collaboration skills, system thinking, and ability to clearly explain complex concepts
• Self-motivated and self-managing with strong organizational skills
• Strong English language communication skills

Nice to Have (one or more)

• Experience with one or more programming languages like Go, Java, etc.
• Experience with cloud development and with one or more cloud providers like AWS
• Experience with the development of containerized applications using Docker
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Experience with Big Data frameworks like Spark and etc.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, maintainable backend services
• Stand up for improvements to software quality, security, and performance. Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Champion testing, reusability, and readability within the development team
• Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures
