
Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Generalist

Priva Path Labs, a trusted partner of LetsGetChecked, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join our high-complexity laboratory team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance of patient testing across multiple analytical platforms. The ideal candidate possesses a valid California CLS license and a strong commitment to maintaining scientific rigor and accountability that exceeds regulatory governance requirements.
Responsibilities
Core Laboratory Operations & Execution
- Perform all high-complexity patient testing that is authorized by the Laboratory Director, strictly following the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results.
- Adhere to the laboratory’s Quality Control policies and accurately document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and routine maintenance.
- Ensure that all testing is performed in compliance with federal (CLIA) and state regulatory and quality standards.
Quality Management & Compliance
- Maintain records demonstrating that Proficiency Testing (PT) samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens (no inter-laboratory communication).
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting and promptly correcting the issue or notifying the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow the laboratory’s established policies, including taking and documenting corrective actions, whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
Professionalism and Teamwork
- Maintain effective communication skills, working collaboratively as a team player.
- Be capable of working independently and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related life science (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry).
- Licensure: Valid California CLS license (either Generalist or Clinical Chemistry Scientist license is required).
- Experience: At least one year of experience in a high-throughput clinical laboratory performing high complexity testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated liquid handling platforms is a plus.
- Experience with mass spectrometry (e.g., LC-MS/MS, GC-MS) or related analytical instrumentation is desirable.
- Experience with Sciex mass spectrometers is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must exhibit superb attention to detail and ethical behavior.

Alongside base salary of $53-$55.50 per hour, this position is eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus + 15% differential for second shift, we offer a range of benefits including:
