We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and hardworking Operations Supervisor to join our team in Fairfield, Ohio. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and high-quality functioning of our fulfillment and production operations. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the entire order fulfillment process, from order receipt to delivery, within a dynamic environment, preferably with experience in medical device production or e-commerce/retail. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to advance their career in operations management.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the entire order fulfillment and production process, from order receipt and component supply to final product delivery, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality processing and adherence to production plans.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and lead a team of fulfillment and production staff, including active participation in hiring, initial training for new staff, ongoing cross-training and refresher training, and performance management to foster team flexibility and ensure adequate absence coverage.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure products are assembled and labeled correctly to the highest quality standards, strictly adhering to all specifications, Work Instructions, Safety, and Quality systems and procedures within your area of responsibility.
  • Workflow & Efficiency Management: Monitor and manage ongoing workflow to ensure timely delivery of products. Develop and optimize fulfillment and production strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise closely and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as warehouse, inventory, material flow, sales, customer service, and logistics to guarantee a consistent supply of components and finished goods, aligning with the production plan and ensuring seamless order fulfillment.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to order fulfillment and production, such as order accuracy, cycle time, on-time delivery, and production output. Generate accurate production documentation and provide regular routine and ad-hoc reports and updates to senior management, outlining performance, trends, and challenges.
  • Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement: Perform root cause analysis of production and fulfillment issues, implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline operations and increase productivity.
  • Safety & Environment: Ensure a strong commitment to meeting all safety requirements, fostering a safe working environment, and maintaining a clean and safe production facility at all times.
  • Inventory Coordination: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels for timely order fulfillment and production.
  • Industry Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in fulfillment and production operations, incorporating new technologies and processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • HR Adherence: Understand and adhere to all HR policies and requirements, and proficiently follow and implement the established issue escalation process for HR, quality, production, and equipment concerns.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in fulfillment operations and/or production management, preferably within the e-commerce, retail, or medical device manufacturing industries.
  • Leadership: 3+ years in a leadership and team management role, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and guide a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and proficiency in root cause analysis.
  • Operational Knowledge: Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics principles, and production processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using order management systems and other relevant software tools.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze KPIs and make data-based decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to Standards: A strong commitment to ensuring all safety requirements are met and fostering a safe working environment, along with a dedication to upholding the highest quality standards.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
