Sustainability & Business Intelligence Analyst

The Sustainability & Business Intelligence Analyst (Analyst II) dives deeper into strategic assessments, financial modeling, and sustainability metrics, aiding in the incubation and scaling of high-potential projects in sectors like energy, water, and agritech.
Mission
Working under a Senior Manager or Director, you will:
- Synthesize complex environmental data with business intelligence insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Play a key role in venture feasibility analyses, from cost-efficiency studies to advanced market evaluations.
- Lead smaller tasks or sub-workstreams independently, driving sustainability and profitability hand in hand.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Data Analysis & Modeling
- Design financial and environmental models (e.g., life-cycle cost analysis, carbon offset models).
- Utilize BI dashboards to track venture performance against KPIs (environmental, social, and financial).
- Project Delivery Support
- Own certain workstreams (e.g., pilot study design, pilot rollout metrics) under the Manager’s supervision.
- Ensure alignment with project budgets, timelines, and legal/compliance frameworks (reporting to Senior Management).
- Strategic Recommendations
- Interpret policy trends (carbon pricing, circular economy incentives) and propose strategic pivots.
- Prepare presentation decks for Senior Managers/Directors, highlighting actionable insights for venture stakeholders.
- Internal & External Collaboration
- Coordinate with external experts (environmental consultants, legal counsel) to gather specialized data.
- Mentor junior Analysts or interns, showcasing leadership potential in sustainability-driven projects.
Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering (or related) + Master’s in Business with a strong emphasis on finance or strategy.
- Experience Level: 2–4 years in consulting, specifically in environmental project management.
- Technical Aptitude:
- Proficient in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Comfortable conducting carbon accounting or other specialized environmental metrics.
- Business Mindset:
- Experience supporting or leading sustainability projects with tangible ROI goals.
- Skilled at opportunity assessments, from cost-saving measures to new revenue streams.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Leadership potential, capable of guiding junior team members and influencing decision-making processes.
