Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring efficiency, professionalism, and strict compliance with local labor and tax laws. This role is critical for accurate financial reporting and exceptional employee support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate Payroll Execution: Manage the complete bi-weekly/monthly payroll cycle, ensuring precise calculation of base salaries, overtime (OT), variable compensation, and benefits.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Process and remit all mandatory deductions (Social Security – CSS, Income Tax – ISR, Education Insurance) and authorized personal deductions (loans, garnishments). Prepare and submit timely government contribution reports.
  • Employee Service: Serve as the primary professional point of contact for all employee payroll inquiries, providing clear explanations on payments, legal deductions, and leave balances (vacation, sick days).
  • Financial Integrity: Prepare payroll-related journal entries and perform monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts, ensuring data accuracy for the General Ledger.
  • Leave Management: Accurately manage and track employee leave balances (vacation, sick leave, disability) and calculate correct accruals and payouts.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and variable compensation calculation.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor and fiscal regulations (Panama/specific region).
  • Experience with payroll systems and accounting software (e.g., ERP).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • 1.2 years of experience
