Data Engineer (f/m/d)

We’re in search of a Data Engineer (f/m/d) who can play a pivotal role in creating, what we believe, will be the first MMO of its kind.

 

Who will you be working with?

As a Data engineer you will work in close collaboration with Data Analysts, Platform Engineers, and Game Engineers to create state-of-the-art, reliable and scalable pipelines for processing data from various internal and external sources. We need your expertise to enable us to make more data-informed decisions as a company.

This team works from our Klang HQ in Berlin. 

 

What will you be doing?

  • Building, maintaining, and operating batch and streaming pipelines to ingest data into BigQuery from various sources: in-game tracking events, backend services, website analytics, advertising outlets, Discord, etc.
  • Implementing automated data testing within our pipelines to address and mitigate data quality issues, ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and trustworthiness of our business-critical KPIs.
  • Collaborating closely with Data Analysts to ensure they have the necessary tools and data sets to produce actionable insights.
  • Working with Platform Engineers to evolve our data infrastructure practices in line with our broader cloud infrastructure strategy on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Partnering with software engineers across the organization to help them adopt best practices for integrating with our data pipelines.

You could be the person we are searching for if you have…

  • Experience in building and operating data pipelines in a production environment.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform’s data services, or the willingness to learn based on experience with comparable cloud providers like AWS or Azure.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks, including experience with tools like dbt or Apache Airflow.
  • A good understanding of up-to-date data engineering technologies and best practices.
