About the Role
Kirby is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. Working across some of the most complex and innovative construction projects in Europe, you will play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of structural engineering solutions that integrate seamlessly with MEP systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to world-class engineering projects from pre-construction through to project handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review structural designs, calculations, and engineering solutions.
- Support pre-construction activities, including design reviews and technical assessments.
- Perform structural analysis to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and building regulations.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Digital Construction, Operations, and external stakeholders to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Support the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural designs.
- Produce and review technical documentation, reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Participate in design risk assessments and quality assurance processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to graduate and junior engineers.
- Assist in driving continuous improvement and engineering best practices across the business.
- Support project teams in resolving technical challenges during design, fabrication, and construction phases.
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience in structural design within construction, engineering, or building services environments.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design standards, and building regulations.
- Experience using structural design and analysis software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
