About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP PP (Production Planning) / QM (Quality Management) Lead to drive solution design and delivery for shop-floor production, quality, and MES-integrated manufacturing processes, with specific domain exposure to smart meter (electricity/gas/water metering device) manufacturing. This role will lead the PP/QM workstream within a broader SAP program, partnering closely with manufacturing operations, MES teams, and cross-functional module leads (MM, SD, PS) to deliver integrated shop-floor-to-ERP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end SAP PP and QM solution design, configuration, and implementation across greenfield, rollout, or S/4HANA transformation projects for discrete/serialized manufacturing environments
• Gather and analyse business requirements for production planning (MPS/MRP), shop floor execution, serialized production (equipment/serial number management), and in-process/final quality inspection for smart          meter manufacturing lines
• Configure core PP components: material master (production views), BOMs, routings/master recipes, work centers, production orders, capacity planning, and repetitive/discrete manufacturing
• Configure QM components: inspection plans, inspection lot processing, quality notifications, results recording, sample management, certificates of analysis/conformance, and usage decisions
• Design and own the SAP–MES integration architecture: order/confirmation data exchange, serial number/genealogy tracking, test and calibration result feedback (critical for smart meter functional/calibration testing),      and real-time production status sync
• Lead requirement workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution blueprinting with manufacturing, quality, and MES stakeholders
• Own functional specifications for custom developments, enhancements (BAdIs, user exits), IDocs/interfaces, and reports tied to SAP-MES data flows
• Guide and mentor junior/mid-level PP and QM consultants; review configuration and integration deliverables for quality and compliance
• Drive testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) for SAP-MES scenarios, plus cutover and go-live activities including master data and serial number migration validation
• Manage stakeholder communication, status reporting, and risk/issue escalation within an Agile or hybrid delivery framework
• Support Jira-based sprint planning, backlog grooming, and story point estimation for PP/QM configuration and integration tasks
• Provide post-go-live support, root cause analysis on production/quality exceptions, and continuous improvement recommendations

Required Skills & Experience
• Prior experience leading a team of 3–6 consultants
• 8+ years of SAP PP and QM functional experience, including at least 2 full-cycle implementations in S/4 HANA, ideally in electronics, electrical equipment, or metering/instrumentation manufacturing
• Strong hands-on configuration expertise in PP (discrete manufacturing, serialized production, capacity planning) and QM (inspection processing, quality notifications, results recording)
• Proven experience designing or supporting SAP-MES integrations, including serial number tracking, test/calibration data capture, and genealogy/traceability
• Process knowledge of smart meter manufacturing — SMT/PCB assembly, meter calibration and functional testing, firmware/software loading, tamper/security feature testing, and final QA/packing
• Familiarity with metering industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., MID, IS 13779, ANSI C12, or regional equivalents) as they affect quality and traceability data captured in SAP
• Solid understanding of integration with MM (component consumption, batch/serial management), SD (order-to-delivery for finished meters), and PS where project-based rollouts apply
• Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, Jira, and sprint-based configuration/testing cycles
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to bridge IT, manufacturing engineering, and quality teams
• Experience writing functional specs and collaborating with ABAP developers and MES integration teams on enhancements
• Excellent communication, documentation, and team leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications
• SAP S/4HANA certification in Manufacturing (PP) or Quality Management (QM)
• Hands-on exposure to MES platforms such as SAP ME/MII, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell/PTC, or similar in a metering or electronics manufacturing context
• Experience with serial number profiles, equipment master data, and IoT/test-equipment data feedback loops into SAP
• Exposure to SAP Activate methodology

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (MBA a plus)
