About the Role

 

The State IT Delivery Lead serves as the technical owner for utility deployments within the assigned state, ensuring seamless integration, system availability, communication performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Own day-to-day execution of assigned project, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of MI, communication and SLAs and associated activities including system availability (HES and other associated applications).

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Deployment

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of utility-specific technical deployments, including HES and other IT integrations, meter communication setup, meter configurations, data transformations, and approved project-level customizations beyond the core product.
  • Translate utility requirements into actionable technical plans by partnering with account team to understand operational workflows, field constraints, and deployment objectives.
  • Ensure predictable, on-time execution by managing technical delivery plans, tracking dependencies, and unblocking engineering team dependencies.

Quality, Testing & Compliance

  • Ensure production-grade quality by enforcing design reviews, validating testing and acceptance criteria, and confirming that all customizations are upgrade-safe and fully documented.
  • Lead System Integration Testing (SIT), Field Integration Testing (FIT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), VAPT assessments, and data privacy compliance activities to ensure secure, compliant, and production-ready deployments.

Customer Escalation & System Performance

  • Own customer escalations and root-cause resolution, driving diagnosis of communication failures, data gaps, latency, and system performance issues through to permanent fix.

Process Improvement & Scalability

  • Improve delivery scalability by creating reusable configurations, integration templates, and deployment playbooks for repeatable utility rollouts.

Product & Business Collaboration

  • Feed product evolution by identifying recurring customization and escalation patterns and partnering with Product to influence roadmap priorities.

Current Challenges

  • Ensuring seamless deployment and integration of HES and associated IT systems across utility environments.
  • Managing communication reliability, data availability, and SLA adherence in live deployments.
  • Driving faster and more scalable project rollouts through standardization and reusable deployment frameworks.
  • Balancing customer-specific customization requirements while maintaining upgrade-safe and scalable product architecture.
  • Resolving complex field-level communication, performance, and integration issues within committed timelines.
