IT Business Partner – Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) / NPD

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic IT Business Partner to work closely with our Engineering team (R&D, New Product Development, Software Development, Manufacturing Engineering) and drive digital transformation initiatives. 

This role will act as a strategic bridge between Engineering, IT, and external technology vendors, leading PLM implementation, SAP integration, engineering automation, and KPI enablement. 

 Key Responsibilities 

Business & Engineering Partnership 

• Collaborate with R&D, NPD, and Software teams to understand process requirements 

• Translate business needs into scalable digital solutions 

• Conduct workshops and define future-ready engineering processes 

 PLM Implementation & Governance 

• Lead/Support PLM implementation (BOM, ECM, Document Management, Workflow, Version Control) 

• Standardize Engineering Change Management & product lifecycle processes 

• Ensure structured data governance across lifecycle 

SAP & System Integration 

• Drive integration between PLM and SAP (EBOM–MBOM sync, Material Master, Change Numbers, Costing impact) 

• Coordinate with SAP MM/PP teams 

• Support integration with MES, WMS, and other enterprise systems 

Engineering Process Automation 

• Automate approvals, release cycles, and documentation workflows 

• Improve traceability and reduce manual dependency 

KPI & Dashboarding 

• Support to digitalize the KPIs (Time-to-Market, Change Lead Time, BOM Accuracy, R&D Productivity) 

• Enable dashboards using Power BI / SAP Analytics 

• Support leadership with real-time insights 

Vendor & Contract Management 

• Act as primary IT interface with PLM/system vendors 

• Lead technical evaluations, negotiations, and commercials 

• Manage contracts, SLAs, milestones, and performance tracking 

 

Required Profile 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial / Production preferred) 

• 7–8 years of experience in IT-business partnering or techno-functional roles 

• Hands-on experience in PLM implementation 

• Strong understanding of NPD, R&D processes, and manufacturing workflows 

• Experience integrating PLM with SAP  

• Exposure to vendor management and contract negotiation
