Kerv Experience is a Telecoms Carrier, operating multiple customers including both Business and Residential customers and supporting many thousands of endpoints and carrier interconnects, both in the UK and internationally. The primary business is delivering Genesys Cloud projects and support. Kerv Experience are a Genesys Premium partner.
As a result of a significant new public sector win, we are building a new parallel Telecoms Infrastructure, that needs to deliver extremely high service availability over the next 8 years.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, we are looking for a highly motivated engineer with experience and a demonstrable track record of delivering and maintaining a communications infrastructure build on opensource SIP telephony and linux technologies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- ensuring the operation and availability of the core VoIP infrastructure by maintaining and improving redundancy and monitoring
- enhancing and optimising the infrastructure by taking a continuous improvement approach
- operating our SBC trunking solutions, onboarding and maintaining telecoms interconnects to carrier partners and customers using SIP
- working with external stakeholders and internal teams to architect and provide customer solutions based on our VoIP infrastructure
- providing expert assistance to infrastructure team members on all aspects of the infrastructure, including fault finding and remedial actions
The role involves working closely with and supported by a likeminded individual within a core infrastructure and development team.

The successful individual will have a passion for technology and will be an key part of a highly technically skilled team contributing to the infrastructure and products we provide.
As such, the role would suit someone with a detailed analytical approach to ensuring robust designs and implementations that are well documented and supportable.
We are looking for engineers with the following skills and attributes:
Experience/qualifications essential for this role:
- Background in working with/for communication providers
- Deep understanding of the SIP protocol and an excellent working knowledge of RFC-3261
- Experience with the configuration and administration of Session Border Controllers
- Systems administrator level knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Fundamental understanding of network components and the operation of TCP/IP
- Ability to provide engineer level documentation
Experience/qualifications preferred for this role:
- Working experience of AWS
- Ability to create small scripts with bash/python
- Networking/Firewall skills
