The Legal team is central to partnering with business leaders to provide accurate, timely and quality information to support their growth plans.
About the Role:
- Provide transactional legal support to Kerv and its other group companies’ in their business of selling wide ranging communication and technology solutions including software, AI solutions and general services, equipment and cloud technologies;
- Working with all relevant functions (including HR, Sales, Product Management, Finance and Commercial teams) to coordinate, amend/negotiate and populate B2B commercial contracts as appropriate, including but not limited to:
- master service agreements,
- partnership agreements,
- reseller contracts,
- CCS Frameworks
- Working for Kerv Group and its subsidiary companies to facilitate the requirements for different services (as sold by Kerv’s various companies).
- Coordinate and prepare all relevant papers/guidance notes as required for the team and/or business.
- Answering generic queries and assisting with the management of the team inbox, assigning matters as appropriate and instructed.
- Supporting the General Counsel and the Senior Legal Counsel (as your line manager).
- Updating of current policies and contracts where required by law and/or the business.
- Support efforts to simplify and streamline Kerv’s standard contracts and transactional materials. This will include leading projects for operational improvements within the legal team.
- Administration duties pertaining to your own and where required, other team members work.
- Working alongside team members and others in the business to facilitate and maintain required processes.
All about You:
- Experience of negotiating customer and supplier commercial contracts.
- Strong attention to detail and experienced in drafting contract provisions.
- Proactive, pragmatic and commercial approach to risk analysis, with ability to explain risks and issues to internal clients simply and effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to juggle competing demands from multiple stakeholders and to keep on top of a diverse portfolio of work.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Desirable Attributes:
- Strong administration skills (including use of MS Word (track changes) and Excel), to manage own workload.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to attend various sites within the UK as required, from time to time.

Your Skills:
- Although we recognise PQE is important, we are open to applicants who meet the above criteria without necessarily meeting a set minimum PQE.
- Experience in advising on cloud-based technology contracts and issues would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Previous experience of working on both supply and procurement sides is desirable.
- Awareness and understanding of Public Sector procurement routes (for example Crown Commercial Services) is desirable.
- Knowledge of contract law, compliance requirements, understanding of key legislation as it effects the business.
- Ability to balance the workload with protecting the business against risk.
