Full-stack Engineer
Who We Are
We are an ambitious, committed and seasoned team of systems engineers, cryptography specialists, security analysts, data scientists, and customer-facing managers. We are looking for people that embrace an engineering mindset to build what hasn’t been built and can apply their skills to solve hard, complex problems.
We believe data is critical to making informed decisions for any organization, be it in understanding the app’s user base or in protecting their budgets. We build software that operates in big data pipelines that span millions of devices a day and is subject to constant and rigorous adversarial threats. We operate across a wide variety of platforms and chip architectures. Above all, we deliver reliable and frictionless technologies that enhance the life of a mobile app using a cross-disciplinary tech stack. To give some examples:
- Zero-knowledge and privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols
- Embedded systems
- Networking protocols
- Compiler theory
- Data science
- Security analysis
- Deployment infrastructures
- Web analytics
- Web microservices and job queues
- Data aggregation in real-time across millions of records
In several of these areas, we work with state-of-the-art research. We actively read, implement and encourage reading research papers. You will work with seasoned engineers that have built performant production systems that process petabytes of data for billions of end users on a daily basis.
About the role
We’re looking for a full-stack engineer to own and maintain the internal and external analytics dashboards, as well as a web portal where our clients can consume the product. You will need to build both the web apps that clients consume on their browsers and the APIs behind them. You will also need to understand the data first-hand, know how to aggregate the data to solve your problem, communicate with the relevant team to understand what needs to be done and make a case for what you need.
We value ownership and we are looking for someone capable of handling the web-facing part of the project that deals with visualization and aggregation of time-series data, how clients consume- and fine-tune it, and how to build this on top of the existing product.
Must haves
- Have built and maintained production web applications end-to-end, from the backend to the frontend
- Have a strong TypeScript background
- Are knowledgeable in concurrency, profiling, monitoring and keeping latency down
- Are able to learn new technologies: in-between the backend, library and frontend, there are about 7 different programming languages and even more frameworks
- Are comfortable with SvelteKit and Bootstrap, or have enough frontend depth to pick them up quickly
- Are comfortable in SQL and can write your own to interface with the data
- Have opinions about data visualization and can defend them: which chart, which aggregation, which axis, and what a given graph is quietly misleading about
- Are able to look at time-series graphs and understand the real-life impact of the systems you’ve built and algorithms you’ve implemented
- Are able to write code you can explain line by line without an AI. We use AI tooling like everyone else, but you own and understand everything you commit
- Are comfortable making your own decisions about design based on the given input
- Write good documentation and can explain to others what your code does
Nice to haves
- Familiarity with C/C++ and build systems
- Familiarity with Android/iOS apps and/or internals
- Familiarity with NodeJS
